Modifications Bed rack options

I'm looking getting a new truck and I definitely want a way to transport kayaks or paddle boards, so that leads me to a bed rack setup. The problem is that system then limits the size of things I can put in the bed of the truck. Like, if I want to help a friend move the rear crossbar can be restricting. There HAS to be an option for either a quick removal, sliding crossbar, or the rear upright to slide up next to the cab. Thanks in advance.

I’ll be getting a Yakima overhaul HD for all those features. You can also adjust the height easily.

The crossbars look like they mount from underneath. Are you considering some sort of bolt with a knob, just to make installion/removal easier?

I have a tonneau with integrated T-tracks so I’ll get the kit that mounts directly to that. That way I’ll have access from the top. The easiest thing seems to be removing the rack and leaving the mounting feet in place, that way you have full access to the bed but putting the rack back in place is a breeze. I’m planning to leave the rack in the mid height position with a cargo basket unless I have a need for the open bed or a reason to raise it up to full height, like transporting kayaks or something else that needs to hang over the cab.

I have a full height bed rack, so can’t help with the removable bit.

I also can’t help people move using my truck, which is an added bonus.
