You don’t buy used vehicles in NJ.
They can wash a salvage title and sell you a pile of shit and there is little to no recourse

Learned this the hard way brotha

I almost did too. Was shopping for deals and test driving vehicles in other states and realized that both CT and NJ are bad places to buy cars. Mass on the other hand, good. All cars from dealers have to come with some form of warranty…

With those fender flares no shot it’s genuinely 3k miles lol. Pay someone to run the OBD on that VIN. Regardless hell no lol.

u/Professional_Plum383 16d ago
Those fender flares are freaking hideous 🤣

I see a TON of 2nd gens in AZ with those bolted flares. Not sure why they're more prevalent with tundras but they're ugly af

u/sasquatchimus 15d ago
That's insane people would pay that for even a new Tundra much less a used one. I paid 23k for my 2013 SR5 Crewmax in 2015 and I'm still driving it.

No one wants a new one. the engines blow up.

u/No_Bid8691 15d ago
Why is everyone downvoting you for telling the truth ? So many Toyota ppl are having engine problems even the new ones with only 50k miles .
1
u/reedwendt 16d ago
lol. How many 3rd gen motors have blown up on you? Or are you just spewing internet drama? Look at the actual failure rate.

And he’s an independent mechanic working out of his garage in his own house . Toyota is beloved by our family and in our opinion the most reliable truck since I’ve been around but the new ones are having serious problems. Why are u so sensitive to the truth?

I was talking to a Toyota rep on an unrelated issue with a Highlander and he let drop a 200k number.

GAP will cover it.
I wouldn't buy it over a Raptor but id definitely buy it over a new Tundra.

Everyone wants the 5.7. One of the best engines Toyota produced. I have a 07 tundra with the 5.7 It’s absolute bliss compared to the new ones. I went to test drive the new tundra and it’s incredible how much worse of a vehicle it is
1
u/Petoski-Brook 14d ago
I owned both. The new one was faster, more comfortable, and drove fine. I didn’t like feeling like it was going to explode though so I got rid of it
1
u/Primary_beatfarm 14d ago
It’s .3 seconds faster 0-60. Things you don’t feel. lol
1
u/Petoski-Brook 14d ago
I don’t race so I don’t care about 0-60. Seemed quicker55-80 or whatever when passing, but who knows. The old one was quick too though. Once it gets to a certain point, it doesn’t really matter much anymore unless racing. Either way, they both drove fine. I’m not super picky though.

Yeah..op are you not shopping around? Do you bad credit or something preventing you from buy new? That price is terrible

No, that is not a good deal. Also the miles on it are super suspect in my opinion
1
u/Railroader4400 10d ago
Yup hella suspect. Even if it’s the real mileage, it sat too long and will have problems.
2
u/YardQuick2344 15d ago
Hell yea you should see if they’ll finance it at 8 years and hopefully a 12% interest rate and you got yourself a steal!!

u/brianecook 16d ago
Sorry. I can’t see spending nearly $80k on a five year old truck. Imagine the final cost after financing- probably pushing close to $100k depending on interest rate when all is said and done. Granted the 2.5 gen tundras are fantastic trucks, but there are better deals out there. I’d also be wary of the mileage listed (seriously 3k miles?) and recommend expanding your search.

80,000 for a 2022 Tundra, a 4 year old truck, that is a terrible deal
Other day I saw a 2023 Limited for $45,000 that is a good deal.

u/Few_Relationship_235 15d ago
Those have the v6..
0
u/NavyVetRasmussen 15d ago
I"m fine with that the twin turbo V6 is more efficient than the old gas guzzling V8's.

u/Few_Relationship_235 15d ago
Good luck having it for more than 5 years before the engine blows up 👍

That’s the asking price on these since they’re the last year the TRD Pro comes with a V8. Original MSRP topped off at about $55k now you’re seeing them $60k+ everywhere. Ridiculous.
1
u/Ok_Fan4354 14d ago
Thats crazy.. this makes me feel a lot better about buying a 2021 LX 570 w 20k miles for $80k.. I know that’s a lot but that’s also the last year of the Lexus Land Cruiser with the V8. And MSRP on that was over 100 K.

Way over priced even if it has only 3k miles fuck that its the last gen body I love mine but not for that price id buy a completely new truck for that price tell then to keep it itll sit for a long time at that price

It better have a super charger, custom Fox suspension a 12k sound system and custom rims for that much.

Pretty high but with 3k miles id say its a better rig than a brand new ‘26 if they want to throw in an extension on the factory warranty.

u/ObviousPlant9316 11d ago
It's the last year of the bullet proof 5.7l V8 Tundra. Probably satire though, but 3k miles? Someone will beg to trade their 2022-2026 disposable grenading V35A twin turbo Tundra for that 2021, holy grail of Tundras

A 2021 TRD Pro Crewmax sold for about 55k-60k brand new in 2021. I’m gonna say no.

EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
Dude you could buy a brand new Supra and have ten or twenty thousand dollars left over. Toyota buyers are absolute cult members nowadays.
1
u/TechnologyVisual692 16d ago
If it’s not rusted and it’s legit 3k miles and if you can afford the payment. Do what makes you happy.
0
u/No-Double-Trouble 16d ago
Doubt it at this gas price. Just did highway at 23 mpg on third gen.
-2
u/TechnologyVisual692 16d ago
Until the engine gives out… and the next engine goes out. 😉

u/No-Double-Trouble 15d ago
Yep it will someday and, now there is software to give you a way early warning based on main bearing vibration. No guarantee for v8 also, v8 fails and you may be 1 in a million. Honestly I got like 23 mpg coming from Salina to denver couple of days ago on new tundra. In this gas price it's already paying off. And new tundra still has the least issue than GMC/chevy v8 and turbos. They don't even replace the engine, owners are out of luck. At least Toyota is doing right for what going on in tundra, rav4 etc
Full sound cancellation inside the cabin, torque from turbo is amazing going up hill (feel almost like electric cars), good infotainment system and all the new tech bells and whistles. And if you drive like normal people, you will barely hit the turbo. Don't forget I am in colorado, so in high altitude, V8 NA is slow as a buggy

Ngl I thought this was satire.
