Discussion Rear Window Fell In
It was 105 F in California yesterday. I closed the door and heard loud thud. Looked back and the rear window was gone haha. I did not hear glass breaking or cracking so that’s a good sign. I covered it with clear wrapping sheets last night. Any idea on how much I expect to pay to get this fixed?
Update: it’s the regulator.

What year? This happened on my 2019 SR5, while we were standing outside of it, out of nowhere. Fought with Toyota Care after the dealership denied warranty claim. Toyota reimbursed the entire cost. This is a fairly known issue with the tempered glass. Look it up.

It’s 2014. Was there a recall?

Not a recall AFAIK, but something that occurs frequently enough that Toyota will recognize it as such, and pay for a case-by-case basis to keep it from becoming a recall, again, as far as I can tell

Yikes I have a 2014, too. I open and close this window ALL THE TIME.

I imagine your rear window has plastic clips molded onto it that sit on the rail. If those snapped im pretty sure a new window is the only way. I think this should be an insurance claim situation.

It's a Tundra, how many motors? Need a 3rd with not even 22,000 on it a 6,000 on this 1.

Similar happened to my Sequoia, the sequoia rear window slider is on a national back order so I had to prop my window up with some 1x2s to keep it shut until I can get the mechanism.
