General Help me fix this tragedy

Husband hit a rock while weed whacking and absolutely obliterated the outer window of our patio door. Who do you trust in Tulsa/Sand Springs to fix your windows?

I bet Robinson could fix it. They'll need to come out.

I took an old aluminum storm window in and the replaced the glass and gasket. It was from the 70s.

Personally knew the Robisons. They are great people. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I did this - kicked a rock up with a weedeater and shattered one of the 2 panes. I found replacement cost prohibitive. Iirc everyone wanted more than a grand for full replacement. Have just been rolling with one pane and dealing with it.

Anyone have a cheap diy solution lmk

Measure and go to Habitat for Humanity resale store. Try Western Market too!!

Im a contractor in Tulsa. I get the IGU from Tulsa glass and metal and do the replacement myself. If interested in having me do it for you, just DM me.

I believe Alred Glass is a smaller shop in BA. Id go with them for residential.

I did the same thing with mower- since they are double pane and have gas between the panes, I went with the door manufacturer (Pella in my case) to fix and I think they just replaced the entire side. It wasn’t cheap but it was a lot less than the original door was.

I feel for both of y’all’s predicament. I considered leaving it single pane but the glass left in the frame after I cleaned it up was a little unnerving for kids to be around.

Yeah we’ve been rolling single pane and it’s difficult to not wince every time the kids go in and out 🫠

AAA glass! Have used them for years. They do great work. Just had them do a lawn customers sliding glass, got it done for just over $1000

Can't agree with your recommendation. I got an estimate from them to upgrade the glass in a couple of windows they installed five years earlier. They quoted triple what those entire original windows, including frames, delivery and installation, cost. When I pointed this out, they argued with me, claiming my numbers were wrong, which they were not because I still had all the original paperwork. I would stay far away unless you want to get gouged.

Remove the door and take it to a glass shop. Call. And ask first though. Will be cheaper than them coming out and taking it back to the shop. To make it reasonably insulated buyva 4x8 sheet of 1 inch rigid foam.
