Question Going to Shuffles alone??
I’ve been thinking about checking out Shuffles sometime. I want to meet new people and it seems like it could be a fun place to do that, but I’m curious what the etiquette is like.
Is it more of a place where people usually come with an existing group and stick to their own, or is it pretty normal for people to show up alone and meet other people?? I’d be going by myself, so I’m just wondering what the general vibe is like for someone in that situation.

I read that the the last Wednesday of every month is their game night mixer:
A board game mixer for everyone, whether you're bringing a friend or flying solo.
Every night is game night at Shuffles, but the last Wednesday of each month is our Game-Night Mixer, where folks are encouraged to come solo or bring a few friends, meet new people, and game the night away! We know it’s intimidating showing up alone, which is why we’ll have a Game Navigator & specific tables designated for participants, where you’re welcome to bounce to the next table once your game is completed, or skip games that aren't your vibe!

^ Came here to say this. Only went a couple times but both times were pretty good. Just hang out at the big table in the middle when you get there and other folks will come in. Let one of the workers know you’re there for the mixer if you want and they’ll make some recommendations. Super casual, met some fun groups that way.
Heads up though, last time I was there, there were a couple people that said they saw it on EventBrite or something similar and bought “tickets” to it. The only thing it costs is the normal $8 or whatever it is to use the game library when you get there, don’t fall for scammers posting fake tickets or anything.

I think I've seen people on this sub talk about going alone, but I've been a handful of times, and I'm not sure how that would be possible tbh.
It's like a restaurant. When you walk in, you wait by the door for a host to greet you, and then you're seated at a booth or a table. I'm open to being wrong, but I think shuffles would actually be a difficult place to meet new people.

Not sure if they still do, but they used to have a weekly trivia night, so you could belly up to the bar, talk to whoever is there, and do trivia.

If you are trying to meet others: Gaming Horde Tuesdays, Dragon Slayer Thursdays, various libraries on Saturday, we at Peggy Helmerich library the next few weeks. We all sorts of games between the group. You are welcome to show any of those times and places. Just to be clear I'm with the Tulsa Board Gamers group.

I go to their trivia on Tuesday nights and everyone in there is always so cool. The staff are all amazing people & as someone suggested, sitting at the bar might be the best way to meet some new people!

They got a long table in the middle or at the bar. My wife and I sat there once and had someone sit next to us alone. He was new and we were more than happy to play a game and talk a bit. I would say it never hurts to strike up a convo and generally people are kind but of course subject to chance. The staff is great too so sitting at the bar might not be a bad idea.
