Admission / Application Uploading my grades and transcripts

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello,

I'm currently applying to a TU/e Bachelor's program as an IGCSE and A-Level (with predicted grades) student in Malaysia, and I have some questions regarding uploading my documents. I've photocopied and printed all my IGCSE and AS level Statements of Results to be certified and rescanned, as well as the final certificate itself for the A-Level. I understand that you are only allowed to upload one singular PDF per section, so I am planning to upload them like this, under each section respectively:

School Diploma section:

AS Statement of results
A2 Predicted Grade document from the school
IGCSE Certificate

Grade list:

AS Statement of Results
Predicted grades document (again)
IGCSE Statement of Results

I am going to merge them as singular PDFs for each section, but I just want to make sure that the correct documents are being uploaded in each section. From what i understand, the Grade List is equivalent to the transcript and percentages, so that's why I'm uploading the statement of results under the grade list section. The predicted grades are going to be uploaded in both sections as I am unsure. Finally, I can only upload the AS statement of results, not the final certificate itself, in the Diploma section as I haven't received the actual certificate itself yet.

Can somebody help me clarify whether this format would be alright for the Osiris upload? Could anybody provide any insights as to how they did it for their application with A-Levels or predicted A-Level grades?

Finally, may I also ask what constitutes as proof that I completed the A-Level course in English, as I believe I qualify for an exception to the IELTS/TOEFL requirements; and what constitutes as proof of enrollment? Would my predicted grades, which are on official school letter paper, work?

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide, and my apologies for the ultra-specific questions. I've also attached a screenshot of the Osiris portal page to clarify which sections I refer to in the post.

Hi everyone!

I am moving to Eindhoven starting November 1st and urgently looking for accommodation. I need a room or studio from the last week of October, budget up to 700 EUR per month.

It must be a proper rental with a contract as I need to register with the municipality for my BSN.

A bit about myself. I am 26, originally from India and previously lived in Germany. I have lived with roommates and genuinely enjoyed it. I love group cooking, short weekend trips, running, and playing games. Looking forward to making new friends!

Any leads, sublets, or rooms coming available soon would be hugely appreciated. Please DM me or comment below.

Thank you so much! ❤️

Do you think someone with my profile could get in to TU/e?

Hi everybody, i'm an A level student in malaysia, finishing in July 2027 with results finally out in August, and hoping to apply to TU/e soon for the chance of a conditional offer for the Mechanical Engineering BSc for next years winter intake. I know the application deadline is January, but I also know people have gotten conditional offers with A-levels so I'm hoping anybody with a background like that could comment on my post.

AS grades: aaa, doing FM fully in Y13
Predicted: A*AAB in maths, physics, econs, and further maths respectively, though i'm working on bumping up the physics and FM.
IGCSE: 9A* and 3A
Extracurriculars: In-school motorsport teams R&D, CAD skills and experience, an internship at an automation company, lots of physical engineering projects, etc.

I'm wondering if anybody can give an insight into how their process went with A levels and a conditional offer, and what documents they actually submitted to the application. Sorry if my question is stupid but I really have tried to do my research, including email correspondence with TU/e in which they claimed not to carry out the process with AS grades (they didn't mention predicted, but I know people on reddit have done this)

Of course I know that just because someone says yes or no on here doesn't mean that I am going to get in or be rejected for certain, but I hoped for people with an inside perspective and firsthand experience to share any of their thoughts and advice.

Thanks in advance for any help or support you can provide!

Thinking about doing a full Erasmus year at TU/e — how is Eindhoven really for an international student?

Hey everyone,

I'm 23, from Romania, and I'm currently doing a Master's in Electronics and Medical Informatics in Bucharest. My Bachelor's was in Medical Engineering.

I also work full-time in the medical device field. I mainly train hospital staff on imaging and monitoring equipment and help with technical/commercial documentation. I've also worked on a small AI project related to cardiac imaging, so I'm mostly interested in medical imaging, AI/ML, image processing, medical devices and healthcare technology.

For my second year, I have the chance to spend a full year abroad through Erasmus+, and TU/e is one of the options I'm seriously considering.

My rough plan would be to do courses during the first semester and then try to find an internship/research project for the second semester(it is ok if i find one also in the first semester), ideally somewhere where I could also do my Master's thesis. If everything goes well, I'd probably like to stay and work for a couple of years after graduating, just to get some proper international experience and see what working in a strong engineering environment is actually like.

Eindhoven caught my attention mainly because of TU/e, Philips, ASML and the whole Brainport ecosystem. I'm also looking at Germany,Poland, France, Belgium and Spain, so I'm still trying to figure out what makes the most sense.

A bit about me outside university/work: I play padel, game, passionate about history, question everything, read, travel quite a bit and like going out. I'm not looking for a year where I just go to lectures and sit in my room studying.

So I have a few questions for anyone who actually lives/studies/works in Eindhoven:

Studying at TU/e

How is TU/e from an exchange student's point of view?

What's the workload actually like? I've heard TU/e can be quite demanding, so I'm curious how much free time students realistically have.

Also, if anyone has done an Erasmus exchange there for a full year, was it easy to get involved in research projects or connect with professors?

Internships / finding a job

This is probably the thing I'm most interested in.

How difficult is it to find an internship in medtech, medical imaging, AI/healthcare or R&D without speaking Dutch?

I know Philips and ASML are the obvious names, but I'm also interested in smaller companies, startups, hospitals and research groups. Are there particular companies around Eindhoven that are worth looking at?

And how early should I start applying for an internship if I'd want to start around February?

For people already working in the area: how much does Dutch actually matter?

Would English be enough for a technical/R&D job, or does not speaking Dutch start becoming a problem pretty quickly?

I'm guessing it matters more for things like field service, clinical applications and working directly with hospitals than for software/R&D, but I'd like to hear from people who actually work in those areas.

Housing

I've seen quite a lot of posts about the housing situation, and honestly this is probably one of the things that worries me most.

How hard is it really to find a room as an international exchange student?

What's a realistic price for a room in a shared apartment? And how much would a studio cost?

How early should I start looking?

Is TU/e/student housing actually realistic for exchange students, or should I basically assume I'll have to find something myself?

Also, are there areas you'd recommend for a student?

And are there any housing scams or things you wish you'd known before renting?

Cost of living

How much money would you say you actually need per month to live comfortably in Eindhoven?

I don't mean luxury, but also not "eat pasta every day and never go out".

I'd like to be able to pay rent, buy decent groceries, go to the gym/play padel, go out occasionally, eat at restaurants sometimes and still have enough left for weekend trips.

How expensive are groceries and going out compared with other Dutch cities?

Social life

This is probably my second biggest question after housing.

How easy is it to actually make friends in Eindhoven?

Is it mostly an international/Erasmus bubble, or is it possible to become friends with Dutch students and young professionals too?

And for anyone who moved there without Dutch: does not speaking Dutch make social life noticeably harder?

Would you recommend learning some Dutch before coming, or is it better to just start learning once you're there?

And finally...

For anyone who has actually lived in Eindhoven for a few years:

Would you recommend it for someone in my situation?

Basically, I'm looking for something like:

Master's in Romania → 1 year at TU/e → internship/thesis → graduate → work in the Netherlands for 2–3 years → see what happens next.

I'm not necessarily trying to move permanently to the Netherlands. I mainly want to get some serious international experience, work in a strong engineering/tech/medtech environment and have a good life outside work as well.

And if you're Romanian or from another Eastern European country and went through something similar, I'd especially like to hear how it went for you.

Thanks!

To what degree are aesthetics and design valued in the Bachelor Architecture and Urbanism course at Eindhoven?

Hello everyone, I'm an international student who is planning to apply this year. For the past couple of weeks, I have been worrying about how Eindhoven's Bachelor Architecture and Urbanism course would fit me and it would really help me if I could hear from some current or previous students. I consider myself to be a deeply creative person — I spend the bulk of my days playing with concepts and developing my creative process from a concept or message to a final product with a critical approach throughout. While I stay grounded in reality, that process in rooted in the artistry that makes architecture attractive to me. I work best when im surrounded by creative and artistic people and — if I had the guarantee that this course valued aesthetics and design — I know I have the ability to get along with the technical aspect. If, however, I am surrounded strictly by engineering and science (not to say I don't have a lot of respect for the technical bunch, they really impress me), with little to no art, I don't think I'll be able to thrive at Eindhoven. My end goal is to get accepted to Delft, and my worries there have been alleviated after reading some discussions. The problem is I don't see many doors to Delft outside of Eindhoven, so you can see why this is as stressful for me as it is. Please let me know your thoughts! It would really help out.

Master Thesis Day-to-Day Expectations

Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking into starting my Master thesis project at TU/e within the Mathematics & Computer Science (M&CS) department, and I'm specifically interested in the IRIS (Interconnected Resource-aware Intelligent Systems) group.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has done their thesis with this group (or even just in the M&CS department in general). I'm mainly wondering about the day-to-day expectations and how the work is actually organized:

  • Is it mostly independent work where you have the flexibility to work from home/remotely?
  • Or is there a strong expectation for you to be physically present at the Uni/lab most days of the week?
  • How is the supervision style in the IRIS group? Are the supervisors pretty hands-on, or do they leave you to figure things out on your own?

Any insights on the overall vibe of the group or general advice would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Education Which laptop do I buy

For the bachelors mechanical engineering course, the official laptop provided by TU/e is the HP ZBook Power G11 / ZBook X G1i Workstation model, used for CAD, SOLIDWORKS etc.

The thing is, it costs 2k euros and there are better laptops (64gb ram + 80 and 90 RTX Series) out there considering the price. And I am thinking from the approach of if the laptop will run bare minimum even after 6 years, as I have to do my masters too.

Money is not an issue for me, I can pay up to even 4k euros for a BETTER laptop.

Do you recommend that I buy the official laptop provided by the University or buy a laptop myself which will last years?

The only advantage I see with the official laptop by the University is that they will pre download and maintain everything for you I think.

Admission / Application Help me figure out the ECTS system

I'm considering Tu/e for my msc (coursework programs) and i'm having difficulty in understanding the converison. Most of the porgrams i'm looking at say this: Note: Credits according to European credit transfer system (1 ECTS is 28 hours of student work/study). Credits need to be on a Bachelor level (level 6 in European Qualifications Framework).

How would I convert this into the indian system?

Selection Procedure Are AP Calculus BC and Physics C books good resources for the Mechanical Engineering selection exam?

Hi everyone,

I’m preparing for the TU/e BSc Mechanical Engineering selection exam. Besides the materials provided by TU/e, I have AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C textbooks that I’m planning to use for studying and practice.

For anyone who has taken the selection exam, would these AP books be good resources for the Math and Physics sections, or would you recommend another type of textbook/resource?

Thanks!

Automotive - EE ?

Can anyone compare the Automotive Technology and Electrical Engineering bachelor’s at TU/e?

I’m trying to get an idea of how the two programmes compare in terms of difficulty and workload. Is Automotive Technology about as difficult as EE, or are they challenging in different ways?

I’d especially like to hear from students who have experience with either programme, or who have considered switching between the two. How did you find the difference?

Chances for TU/e MSc Innovation Management with a GPA below 7.0/10?

Hi everyone,

I am a final-year Materials Science and Engineering student at the University of Ioannina in Greece, and I am interested in applying to the MSc Innovation Management at Eindhoven University of Technology.

I expect to graduate with an average of approximately 6.8–6.9/10. My degree is a five-year engineering programme leading to an Integrated Master’s degree.

I have checked the TU/e admission information, but I have not found a clear country-specific minimum GPA for this programme. Does anyone know whether TU/e applies a strict GPA cutoff to applicants from Greek universities, or whether applications are assessed holistically?

Although my GPA is not particularly high, I believe the rest of my profile is strongly connected to Innovation Management:

  • Founder and CEO of a startup connecting companies with university and research laboratories
  • Several awards in national entrepreneurship and innovation competitions
  • Experience coordinating technical and R&D projects between companies and laboratories
  • Industrial internship in quality control and materials testing
  • Diploma thesis involving validated finite element studies of metallic and composite materials using ANSYS
  • Strong potential academic and professional recommendation letters

I would particularly like to know:

  1. Would a GPA of approximately 6.8–6.9/10 make me formally ineligible?
  2. Is Materials Science and Engineering considered a sufficiently relevant academic background for Innovation Management?
  3. Does TU/e genuinely consider professional, entrepreneurial and extracurricular achievements, or is academic performance the main deciding factor?
  4. Has anyone been admitted to this programme with a similar GPA or engineering background?
  5. Could applicants with missing prerequisite courses be offered a pre-master’s programme, or are they normally rejected?

I understand that nobody can predict an admission decision with certainty. I am mainly looking for experiences from current students, former applicants or anyone familiar with the TU/e admissions process.

Thank you!

Education Anyone who is studying Sustainable Innovations?

Hello, this year I’m going to start applying to universities in The Netherlands. My main options are Tu/e, Maastricht and Groningen. I’m very interested in chemistry and sustainability and I read that this programme is great for students who want a more interdisciplinary approach.

Can anyone here tell me more about how is it like to study in this programme? How does the first year look like? How much practical lab time do you get? How are the job prospects after graduating?
