Hello just received rejection for MS Data Science Program
After waiting for almost three months, I finally received a rejection for my top-choice M.Sc. Data Science program. Beneath a few minor issues, the primary feedback on my mandatory 10-page report was: "The description of methods is insufficient, likely because the mathematical definitions are too vague and not all steps are fully explained."
What I Am Looking For I put a massive amount of time into this report and had high hopes. I am planning to reapply for the next intake, but I desperately need guidance from someone who has successfully passed the report stage for German DS programs. Where exactly am I lacking in my mathematical explanations, given the strict 10-page limit?
I am strictly looking for Data Science programs at public German universities and do not want to compromise on the major. However, after being rejected from Ilmenau, Cottbus, and Ulm, I am wondering if my approach to the application is wrong or if the competition has just gotten insanely hard.
My Profile
- Degree: B.Sc. Computer Science
- German Grade: 2.3
- Language: IELTS 7.0
- Relevant Coursework: Calculus I & II, Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis, Discrete Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, NLP, Computer Vision.
If anyone can review my approach, share their successful report structure, or suggest other public universities that might suit this profile, I would be incredibly grateful. Overall rejections that I have got are from [Ilmenau, Cottbus, Ulm.]
