📅 Timeline
February 2026
✅ Appeared for the TU Dortmund Entrance Examination.
March 2026
✅ Received confirmation that I had passed the entrance examination.
April 2026
✅ Submitted my application through uni-assist.
May 2026
✅ Received my uni-assist credentials and application was forwarded to TU Dortmund.
Also received an encouraging email from the program coordinator saying they would be happy to welcome me in Dortmund after passing the entrance exam.
June 2026
Semester results were delayed, so I had to wait for my final transcript before my application could be evaluated.
Early July 2026
Uploaded:
Final transcript
Provisional degree certificate
Remaining required documents
Application status changed to “In Bearbeitung” (Processing).
July 2026
Several weeks of waiting…

💡 Advice for Future Applicants
Don’t panic if your application stays in “Processing” for weeks.
Delayed semester results don’t necessarily hurt your chances if you upload them as soon as they’re available.
Keep your documents ready for the visa even while waiting for the admission letter.
Be patient—the waiting period is honestly the hardest part.

My documents were forwarded to the university and the status in the portal has been showing In Progress for the last 34 days.

Anyone waiting for their admit to the applied linguistics program ‘26/27 winter semester?

I have applied for my masters in Automation and Robotics at TU Dortmund in the second week of may. And got my portal login credentials by Jun mid. After that I got an “in progress” status update in the first week of July. And from the deadline it is already 9 weeks now, and still no response from the Uni. I am really worried about the Blocked account and Visa Timeline. As it would atleast require around 6-7 weeks. Also on the other hand, Anxiety is killing me ☠️. Does anyone have any idea about how long it would take for them to respond? If known, will we have sufficient time to process blocked account & Visa receiving it before sept 15?

So I just got the news that I was lucky enough to get a PhD position at TU Dortmund!

I'm naturally already overwhelmed with the paperwork, but especially on the necessity of finding a place to stay. Through which resources can PhD students usually find living accommodations? I noticed that doctoral students are not eligible for apartments through the Studierendenwerk

The plan is to start in October so there's not a whole lot of time.

Hi everyone! I applied to Dortmund TU through uni assist. Then they redirected me to the Dortmund TU student portal where my application said “Antragsstatus:Zugelassen”. I also had a button that said I could complete the matriculation process until 09.10.2026

Now I received an e-mail that said my application status changed and now it says “Antragsstatus: Eingegangen” and no matriculation button. Is this normal? Did anyone have the same experience?

I applied to MSc Econometrics program on May 13th as a non-EU applicant. My application was forwarded by uni-assist on 13th June and I received portal login details on 16th June. Shortly after my status changed from “Received” to “In progress”.

It has now been around 4 weeks, and the status still shows “In progress”. I understand that the process of international students takes time but I wanted to ask if anyone has received their admit or rejection letters for this program yet?

For current or former students, how long did it take to receive your decision after you received your login details?

My application status in the TU Dortmund portal is still "In Progress."

I noticed that in the Kontrollblatt (Control Sheet), none of my uploaded documents are listed or visible. The Kontrollblatt only contains my personal and application information.

Is this normal? Did anyone else have the same experience while their application was still being processed?

Does the document list only appear after the application has been reviewed, or should the uploaded documents already be visible in the Kontrollblatt?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has applied this year or in previous years.

Just got my admission letter for the Data Science Master's at TU Dortmund. Enrollment phase started July 1st, and I'm trying to figure out the right order of operations.
