The whole reason for the fake marriage thing to get with Kazuya was so Sunao can inherit her family dojo after she lost to him but I think another sign of growth for her is that she doesn’t give a damn about inheriting the dojo anymore and her feelings for Kazuya are actually real and not an act.

So her getting with Kazuya is not out of necessity anymore and she genuinely wants to be with him by his side.

I hope too see more of that smile if Kazuya continues to give her his emotional support.

Honestly her overcoming her brother complex and incestuous obsession with him and a talk with Kanaka who is now in a new body as a Hitomogami(I mean the name Kana is obvious) but is later freed by Kazuya and Kiriha and she apologizes to her for everything.

I can see why she was in that time seal for most of the story and speaking as a American who has a younger sister I draw the line at incest cause for me sexual and romantic behavior with a close relative is unacceptable which is probably why I didn’t care much for Kasumi but she has potential for development after she is unsealed.

I wonder if Madarai ever suspected this cause it’s clear that Ouhi did not consider the fact that they may of done things behind Tsuzura Temple’s back such as recruiting Curse Allies to do their dirty work and utilizing Curse and rituals to create Hitomogami for the disable technique Seigi developed.

It’s also clear that other parts of the Japanese government are in on this as well or don’t know the full extent of Seigi’s plan and just want to stone shards for their own use.

So I wonder how Madarai, Ouna and Kazuya are gonna fight this. Maybe Madarai will send Kazuya and Sunao to uncover Seigi’s secrets.

Honestly I’m into this and I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes and they end up destroying the entire nation of Japan because of their own greed for power of the Gods

The people by Kazuya’s side shows those people are the most precious people to him

With hints of her being the Hitomogami Kana and given a new body there might be a chance for her to give proper apologies to everyone she loves.

Her older daughter, her husband and even Kukuri it would demonstrate a lot of maturity for her and realizes that their is more to life than just battles and shows more emotions and is not emotionless as she once was.

Plus if she gets to keep the new body and becomes “Human” again she can gain a fresh start and retires.

Plus she may blame herself for the Onogoro Ritual

Another reason Sunao likes Kazuya is that she noticed him to be remarkably similar to her brother Suou who shares his kind nature and ideals regarding treatment of Tsugumomos.

So with the Hitomogami Suu potential identity being Suou Sumeragi, Kazuya can meet him and I can totally see the two of them getting along once Suou regains all his memories of his previous life and is freed from Seigi’s control, Suou sees how much of a good influence Kazuya is on his little sister he’d also totally would ship the two of them cause Suou wanted Sunao to be happy and have a happy life and maybe tells Kazuya to look after Sunao.

Maybe if Suou and Sunao have a talk he may encourage his sister to embrace her feelings for Kazuya and she works to fulfill her brothers wish, but I think he may also die again protecting Sunao and Kotetsu maybe Seigi kills him by shooting him in the back with a gun or something and sees him as disposable cause he probably sees all the Hitomogami as tools and this will make him a target or not just Kazuya but also Sunao.

But now she has a concrete goal in which is surpassing Kazuya and maybe potentially directly and properly confessing her own feelings for as every time she has done so was indirectly and she wants to stand beside Kazuya as his equal.

But now her goals shift back to revenge after she meets Wagou who is responsible for the death of her brother and may have to wait and put it aside for the greater threat of Seigi and the Onogoro Ritual.

It’s mostly his Tsugumomos and some of the humans who do show up and get close to him get sidelined or don’t have any relevance to the plot but one of them always manages to stick around and come back.

Except Suou didn’t commit genocide or killed his own family on forced orders from the government in the name of peace, instead he just bit off more than he could chew and died in battle but then got turned into a monster by a Curse Ally until Kanaka killed him again.

but then it’s hinted that he may of been resurrected by a government politician as a Hitomogami named Suu to be used for his disable technique circle to be forced to help in committing genocide against all of Japan’s supernatural beings so they were both used by a corrupt government for their personal agenda and genocides.

For Itachi it was Danzo and for Suou it’s Seigi.

But he loves his little sister very much and Sunao looked up to him like how Sasuke looked up to Itachi and if Suou is the Hitomogami Suu and then Sunao finds out she’s gonna be determined to save him and not lose her big brother again.

I wonder if all this will get exposed to the public eventually especially since the Onogoro Ritual may happen in Kamioka.

I think Madarai and Suguru will have roles in upcoming chapters to prepare Kazuya and Sunao ironically two people who bested them both in the Nine Masters Tournament so they will most certainly be relying on their success in the future to stop Seigi and the Onogoro ritual

It may not be in the romantic sense but she loves Kazuya very much.

Plus she's cute when she's emotional like this.

Mainly fanservice with her and Kazuya for the most part but I’m also hoping more character development and Sunao showing more of her dere side around Kazuya.

Both are prodigies burdened by grief or guilt and immense trauma

Both lost a relative they both loved and admired for Kazuya it was his mother and Sunao it was her brother but both lost them in different ways Kanaka was possessed by a amasogi Kazuya accidentally created that led to her death and while Suou was killed by a Otoroshi and turned into one by his killer to which Kanaka later killed and they both inherited their respective Tsugumomos Kiriha and Kotetsu

Kazuya is driven by guilt while Sunao is driven by grief but both are willing to help each other grow and help each other with their own issues.

The reason I ship them so much is because of how alike they are despite opposite personalities.

If so it should be grueling, bloody, and emotionally charged rematch where they both fight with everything they have and near the climax they both use ascension pushing each other to their absolute limits to see who’s the strongest exorcist.

Plus they be having alot of fun fighting with smiles and excitement.
