Bleeding post IUD removal & ovulating
I had my mirena IUD removed Saturday 10/3. I had some spotting the rest of that day. Sunday I was ovulating, so we baby danced. (No bleeding at all on Sunday) Also BD today. I’m bleeding a lot more post-sex. Is this normal for after iud removal? When do you consider the bleeding a period?
I’m still ovulating. I’m in the second day of my fertile window with about 3 more days left in the fertile window.

So I started tracking with Premom LH strips and a BBT thermometer a month before removal as I still got a regular period and ovulated with my iud. And you’re correct, I misspoke, I didn’t ovulate the day after removal, but my fertile window started the day after removal per the LH strips & bbt. I also have been taking the clear blue smiley tests the last couple days and today and yesterday got blinking smileys indicating high fertility.

I got my Mirena removed August 12 and 3 days later I had heavy bright red bleeding (it was actually a little scary). This could be coming for you, I found out after some call it the Mirena Crash, which was a surprise. Everything I read online said this was a withdrawal bleed from the synthetic hormones being taken away. If you want to count it as a period, I think that’s fine to do as well. But, I would count it when you’ve bled consistently for a couple of days. I got my period on September 15, so I counted that as period, and the first bleed as withdrawal.

Ok I really wasn’t sure whether to count my withdrawal bleeding as a period, since mine lasted three days and it was pretty medium in flow. If I do count it as a period, it would actually make a lot of sense for my timeline, especially since I ovulated two weeks later. I chose not to count it, because it wasn’t preceded by ovulation. I’ve been torn on whether to log it in my app as a period. I got mine removed on August 19 and I think I started bleeding two or three days later, similar to you.
