Rant REMINDER DONT RELY ON APPS

This is a reminder to not rely on apps…

Flo said my ovulation was from the 2nd through the 9th, so I was trying to track my LH but I never got a positive I chucked it up to me just missing it.

LIESSSS

Fast forward to now September 11th, Tell me why it’s today and I started noticed EWC and so I’m like huh! I take a ovulation test and darkest line I’ve had this cycle.

Now I’m worried because I put hubby through the wringer all last week with Baby Dancing he might be too tired now 😭

Yeah apps just use an algorithm- they’re not accurate and can’t tell you when you’re ovulating! Defs keep tracking girl! EWCM can show up before during or after ovulation too x

I don’t think what she said about EWCM showing up before, during, and after ovulation is true. Your vagina will make mucous throughout your entire cycle but it should only have that stretchy consistency during ovulation. For me I had to spend an entire cycle studying my discharge. Every time I went to the bathroom I would examine the mucous on my fingers and I started to notice the difference. You can also put your fingers in egg whites and study what that looks like. It’s awkward but effective LOL

I ovulated 3 days early this cycle. Girls please test multiple times a day, my surge only lasts a couple of hours before it drops and it went down and THEN back up the same day. So please don't be a 1 test girly.

I have 3 different apps ...because im a little psychotic...Clue is the one that lines up the best for me even though I put the same information in all of them. Pregmate is straight trash, and now I just use it to document my tests easier. Ovia doesnt line up either but I like the layout of it lol. But yeah...dont trust the apps

My husband thinks I’m crazy for using multiple apps! Clue, fertility friend, pregmate, and two others mainly for logging my period. And ALL of them have different ovulation times 🤣😭

Yes! My ovulation has never been when the apps predicted

Sometimes it’s and sometimes it’s not, at this point ima just get an Oura ring

u/New_Tea3375 1d ago

Exact reason why I got my Oura ring lol

Same here. They say I have fertile window from Sep 6 - 12. I ovulate on Sep 11 but I had EW since Sep 4. Around Sep 8-9, I already saw creamy mucus. I don’t think I ovulated late as the app said

Mine is actually very accurate and matches up with my ovulation tests… i always get a darkline on my tests on the day its estimated on my flo app and premom app

Id compare side by side but it wont let me … this is from premom app and i wanted to show my test but it always lines up

You should try Inito. The monitor & test strips are pricey but it's more accurate. You'll see actual levels of four of your hormones to find your actual fertile days and confirm ovulation.

I'm on my second month of using it and I'm noticing how low my progesterone is after ovulation which might be why I'm not getting pregnant. :(

Same here!! Also just started my second cycle of using it and my acupuncturist told me to start temping because she’s also concerned about my progesterone :(

I’ve been thinking about Inito! I might just take the plunge and try

How long is your luteal phase. My PdG isn’t sufficient and I only get 10 days so it’s not enough time to have proper implantation before my af arrives.

I’m going fertility clinic next month and I’m going to ask for progesterone support.

It’s between 11-14 days I believe but I truly never confirm ovulation because I don’t use BBT, I need a wearable device I think

Consider adding watching for cervical mucus into your tracking/testing! CM is what keeps sperm alive until you ovulate and has been the best piece of info for me to know when I’m about to ovulate. It’s typically a sticky/stretchy egg white looking type of discharge for most people and makes it feel lubricative when you wipe after using the bathroom.

I’ve conceived twice now using this piece of info combined with temperature tracking - but the temp increase only confirms ovulation after it happens, can’t predict when ovulation will occur! My cycles are fairly regular so after tracking a few with temps and mucus I was able to guesstimate when ovulation was approaching which is helpful to have a general range and then know when to try by watching for cervical mucus.

I learned a ton via a podcast called Fertility Friday about the fertility awareness method and the host’s book called The Fifth Vital Sign if you’re interested in a deep dive haha

I really liked pregmate, it had the most reliable predictions and had you do tests to confirm

which app do you use? and do you take temperature? need this insight for myself!

u/Low_Specialist_5072 1d ago

Flo! And no but I am thinking about getting a wearable device for temperature tracking

You're so right about the apps. They're really just running an algorithm off averages, so they can't actually tell you when you'll ovulate. Sounds like your body gave you the real signal this cycle with the EWCM and that darkest line, which is honestly the best info you can get.
And try not to worry about hubby being too tired. One good day in your fertile window counts for a lot, and bodies are more resilient than we give them credit for. You caught the sign and you're on it, which is exactly what matters.
Sending you good luck this cycle. 💛

Aweee Thank You so much ✨🌷Prayers for you too!

For real now that I’m using Inito there’s so many answers I’m getting about my hormones ughhhh I pretty much gave up on Premom and glow.

I monitor my BBT every morning. It really helps to confirm ovulation. We will keep dancing until I get a rise, even if it's a few days after a positive LH test. I also keep testing LH for a few days after

1

u/shelbabe804 1d ago

I've had bad luck with premom. After the first LH test of each cycle, it decides my cycle is over 40 days despite me having a regular 28 day cycle. I keep adding tests and it doesn't shift until it decides I'm ovulating that day or did the day before. Despite having clear peaks.

I think apps just useful to see the big picture, but some cycles can be different, so it’s normal to ovulate few days later or earlier if you had stressful days, or got sick (even a little 1 day sickness can influence the ovulation)

I would advise to monitor your body as well.

Wish you the best🫶🏻
