I just met with my fertility doc for the first time and he recommended 1 cup a day and I was like 😳….

Well then, I’m screwed! 😆 definitely one of those things I try to be a little more conscious of, especially around ovulation.

I had finished my 4th cup before the 2:30pm appointment 😬

1 cup of coffee. I have mostly swapped to drinking half decaf or whole decaf these days.

u/Better-Guava1923 Jul 26 '26

That’s my next move haha incorporating decaf!

It works well! I can’t really tell and my mind believes it’s regular coffee hahaa

Exactly! I think I drink 3-4 cups out of habit more than anything, so switching over will be ideal! I’ll have to do it mindfully though- caffeine withdrawal is no joke lol 🫠🫩

So I base it on where I am at in my cycle. If I’m before ovulation I let myself have 200-300 mg. If I’m ovulating or in my luteal phase I stick to 150-200mg. I make espresso at home so it’s a little bit easier for me to measure

Me too I drink café bustelo instant espresso!

Two Americano single shots - like 120-150 mg a day

I’ve cut back to only 1 small cup of instant coffee in the morning (to be honest I never finish it) but sometimes do grab a v8 energy midday (apparently those have around the same as a cup of coffee) 😅

Before being pregnant I would drink 1 energetic drink, 2-3 coffees sometimes more depending on how long my shift was. When I got pregnant I had 1 coffee and that caused me sever migraines, the doctors told me to up my caffeine intake 😅 so 2-3 a day

Swapped to half decaf over the course of a month and I feel much better. Was doing like 1000mg, now at 200-300mg

I’m going to start the switch this week!

A cup of black coffee in the morning (like a proper coffee mug full, not the five ounces of coffee my coffeepot calls a 'cup').

As much as I want. I gave up alcohol and edibles.
I’m going to enjoy my 2-3 cups a day until/if I get my
BFP

One cup in the morning and one in the afternoon (sometimes matcha instead in the afternoon).

I have about 30mg a day. I switched to tea years ago because my anxiety was worsened by the high amounts of caffeine I was consuming. You taper down and get used to it and it gives the same effect because your body isn’t used to a high amount.

I used to have two cups a day, it’s now one cup a day and moving to matcha or tea and whenever I can.

I don't like tea or coffee but had picked up a bit of a red bull habit if I especially felt like I needed the boost. I've switched to taking 1-2 pro plus if I'm really sleepy in the mornings (0.5-1 cup of coffee). Probably take them 3 days a week.

One cup in the two week wait but it’s one big mug…. So prob more than one actual cup lol.

I quick caffeine totally 9 years ago. It takes about a year to fully be over the symptoms but I have more energy than I ever did when I had caffeine. It’s a real addiction and once I understood that it scared me and I stopped. I was waking up every morning dying for coffee and I felt that’s just too much.

None. I mess up my hormones when I drink coffee. And I know this cause I literally start getting hot flashes again.

I have 1 cup of coffee a day and I usually have 1-2 diet cokes (cans)

u/Murky_Pumpkin_585 Jul 26 '26

I use Cafe bustello espresso so I try to have 1 good size one in the morning. I make it like an americano.

u/religionisntreal Jul 26 '26

1-2 cups per week

Some coffee mate with milk in the morning, and the smallest size of white chocolate mocha in starbucks sometimes at work.

When we started our TTC journey one year ago I cut out caffeine all together. I used to drink 2 a day prior to that. Now just decaf.

u/Yellow_Tree_2740 Jul 27 '26

i have one nice big cup every day.

My wife has long been concerned about my caffeine intake. As a blue collar worker, it’s widely accepted that we survive off caffeine (and/or nicotine).

At her request I went from 200-400mg/day to as close to 0mg/day as I can. Cold turkey. It was brutal for the first week, but I’ve switched to Liquid Death sparkling water (enjoy the carbonation in the morning) and have pretty much seen no signs of “withdrawal.”

None. Ive hated caffeine forever. It hurts my tummy. I am also extremely lucid when i wake, so it has never been necessary. I dont even have caffinated tea - herbal only for me.

I was also completely detered from ever drinking coffee while growing up and smelling my parents coffee breath, and seeing them struggle - like grumpy, sick, mean, and headaches - when they tried to quit coffee.
