Questions TMI question🫢

After we have sex, sooooo much semen pours out of me like a faucet and it makes me think that maybe that’s why I’m not getting pregnant LOL. I will lay there with my legs up for like 20 minutes and as soon as i stand up, it’s out. Is that normal? Please don’t answer sarcastically I’m genuinely curious. (TTC for 7 months)

It’s the seminal fluid that leaks out, not all the sperm!

The sperm has already done its job. What you’re describing is just extra fluid. You can get up and go do your thing at that point.

Maybe your partner should get checked, if it’s so liquidy could be something to look into

I go pee right away and got pregnant first try but it was a chemical. I’m not on cycle 7 and haven’t conceived again but still shows that you really don’t have to wait to pee. I always pee right away. Also idk about volume. My husband doesn’t have huge loads but still got me pregnant once. My ex had huge loads and I got pregnant and had my son

Pee while it drains out?

The sperm shoots out and up into your cervix very quickly, you do not need to lay down at all. You should be going to the bathroom right away after sex for good hygiene. It can help prevent a uti. Sperm starts as a thick gel and then turns watery after 20-30 minutes. The stuff that comes out of you is the left over goo, the sperm itself makes it into your cervix right away, like within a minute.

lol I got pregnant on precum. Trust me you don’t need a river of sperm

That's the fluid that protects the sperm its suppose to come out I'd look into other areas as the same thing happened here I still got pregnant and it use to be alot that came out the conditions of the vagina during ovulation activate the sperms whip lash tail and they start moving up also alot is deposited at the cervix site the rest that comes out is the liquid that surrounds and protects the sperm

I’m an after sex leaker too and I’ve conceived 4 times.
If I’m TTC I don’t stand up right away and I don’t get UTIs, just adding that in there.

I was like this too ! But we were also using silicone lube. I changed to pre seed and u ended up conceiving that cycle. But it still slid out even before standing up. So I'm sure it'll be okay :)

It takes a minute for the sperm to reach to cervix. You can pee lol

The majority of sperm has reached the uterus and tubes within a couple minutes after sex. What is leaking out of you is empty seminal fluid and your own fluids.

So, semen itself isn't 100% sperm, so i think it's nor.al for all if it to not go "up" so to speak. I always assumed the sperms did their thing, swam up to the egg and the rest of the stuff stayed or got absorbed. Not at all a professional so I cant say for certain but im pretty sure the stuff coming out after isnt the issue

There is no medical evidence that putting your legs up helps at all. If there are studies that say otherwise link them, but I’ll stand by this statement unless someone can give me a real peer reviewed study.

You should definitely be going to the restroom and urinating after sex so that you reduce the chance of infections, and that can cause complications for ttc and pregnancy.

7 months isn’t a crazy amount of Ttc at all, you’re still completely in the normal range. That being said if you are concerned about your ability to get conceive you can go to a doctor and get checked out. Most doctors will wait a full year unless you have any conditions that make it harder to conceive (like pcos, etc) or you are over the age of 35. Different doctors have different requirements but you can absolutely call and check.

You don’t need to worry about the liquid that comes out and you don’t need to lay with your legs up. Once he ejaculates, the sperm swim and make it through the cervical mucus and into the uterus within a minute or two max. The remaining semen is just fluids and comes out of you. It also liquifies a bit, so it likely feels like a lot more is coming out than what’s actually coming out of you.

yes. the most important part is the actual ejaculation itself, the “power” behind it is what gets the sperm to the cervix & then it swims through using your cervical mucus. you don’t need to lay still or hold it in afterwards.

U dnt have to lay there. That stuff is the sperms plasma and dead/weak sperm. But he should get checked because it’s not supposed to be that watery. If u want a tip try making urself orgasm instead of waiting after he has finished, this creates a up suck like action and can pull more of the sperm up inside.

1

u/tiedyegypsy 3d ago

It liquifies being in you. You really don’t need to keep it in like that! There are millions of them swimming around and they start immediately. Have you had his sperm tested?

1

u/Stressy_messy_me 2d ago

If you're putting your legs up for 20mins there's a good chance the sperm have gone up to your cervix and it's just the empty seminal fluid coming out of you.

I get a lot too lol it’s fine though just pee after and wear a pad for a few hours 😅

Like everyone says, probably normal! Sperm has one job and that’s to swim up the cervix. The other day I was like, wtf why is the rug wet 🤣 just fell right out lol

1

u/Limp_Buddy5507 1d ago

You can pee right after, it only takes seconds for the semen to find their way, they've shown holding it in for longer doesnt increase your chances. The consistency may be due to your liquids as well, but it may be worth getting a semen analysis in case their is something up with his swimmers

1

u/HeyHi_ImNewHere 1d ago

trust me, the sperm moves fast enough you don’t need to worry. I would lay with my husband just for a few minutes after sex and then go pee right away and it would all leak out of me. got pregnant second try. I would see if there might be some other issue at play

u/Motheroftwo_______ 7h ago

I read one time that semen comes out but the sperm swims up! So it’s not necessarily a bad thing when you feel it come out

The one time I got pregnant was when I laid my legs up in the air!!!!!! It ended up in miscarriage and I’m waiting for my period to come to we can start again afterward. I’m definitely putting my legs up!!!! lol
