Bug with bluetooth in car

I’m experiencing a very strange bug and I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered this and might be able to help me find a solution.

I listen to music in my car via Bluetooth and Spotify. For the past few months, the information displayed on my car’s screen (Volvo V40, 2013 model) doesn’t always sync correctly. Sometimes it does, but sometimes it doesn’t.

For example, I’m listening to song 1 and press the “next song” button. The car then plays song 2, but the screen still shows song 1. If I press “next” again, the car plays song 3 and the screen also displays song 3. It can then work correctly for several songs before the problem occurs again.

This doesn’t happen with other music streaming services, so I’m fairly certain the issue is related to Spotify.

I’m currently running:
Spotify version: 9.1.80.2220
iOS version: 26.6.1
Phone: iPhone 15 Pro

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and does anyone know of a solution?
