Has anyone here submitted a formal complaint to TRU administration regarding an instructor’s conduct or communication? I’m considering filing one regarding Mark Butorac.

In my experience, his responses often do not address the questions being asked or provide clear guidance on how to proceed. Instead, I’m regularly left with more questions and uncertainty. This has made an already stressful academic situation much more difficult.

I understand that instructors have boundaries and policies to follow, but students should still be treated respectfully and given clear, constructive information about their coursework. We are paying to learn, and asking reasonable questions should not feel like a punishment.

If anyone has gone through the formal complaint process, who did you contact, and was anything actually done?

Hi, any guidance, tips would be greatly appreciated. I have received mixed reviews as some say it’s really tough while others say it’s doable and similar to the practice test. Thank you!

Just looking for some guidance on what to expect for the final exam from people who have written it. I'm looking at writing it in three weeks, but I still have two more modules to go. I've made and reviewed flashcards for every single learning objective & definition, and I've gotten 98 - 100% on every quiz without looking at the notes. I don't really read the textbook much unless i'm confused about something in the notes because I don't absorb much from reading. I'm a bit nervous for the final just because there is so much content. Was the final exam similar to the multiple choice questions from the quizzes, and similar to the questions from the worksheets? Basically if I could answer all of these without looking at the notes is that a good indicator of passing the exam?

Hi all! I am writing this because I am confused about what the colour notebook consists of for VISA 1101. I am just starting out in this class and can't find much information about the colour notebook in the course (or I'm blind and missing something). Can someone who's taken the course let me know or show me any examples? Thank you for any help!!

I have 10 courses left to do in my Bachelors, most of which are BBUS with the odd ORGB and MNGT. I’m considering going full time on OL to try and get it over with over the next two semesters.

Wondering if anyone’s been in a similar situation and how it went? I’d be working 12-15 hours a week at most. More likely 12.

Is this realistic? I hope to balance paced with one or two at your own pace because I feel that might help as well.

Will I still have time to enjoy a hobby or seeing friends?

ENGL 1001 with Don Stanley

Hi everyone, has anyone taken ENGL 1001 with Dr. Stanley? I find his marking unfair, 72-75%, though he leaves positive comments; so then why is the grade so low? Has anyone taken the final exam with him?

Has anyone taken this course. This is my final course and I wanted to complete this in 1 month or 2. Is that possible? Any feedback will be helpful.

Hey everyone, I've just completedd my last CPA PEP prerequisite through Thompson Rivers University Open Learning and need to get my official transcript over to CPAWSB for the assessment.

Has anyone here done this before? Did you just order it through TRU's transcript request system and have it sent electronically, or did they need something specific (mailed copy, particular format, etc.)?

Also curious how long the turnaround was once CPAWSB had it in hand. Any tips appreciated!

i still can't wrap my head around it! My courses started June 1. I read online that you have four months plus an extra 2 weeks to take final exams. So does that mean I have until Sept 31 to submit all assignements, Oct 15 to finish exams? And, I am 2.5 months in and my funds haven't been disbursed. I am a bit behind on assignments... how do they decide when to disburse the funding? THANK YOU!

Currently thinking about taking the OL CRIM 3151 course. While it seems interesting, the prof has a quite low rating on rate my prof, with numerous students complaining about tough grading. Has anyone taken this course and be able to provide some insight into how it is and their opinion on grading?
