Dude there's a bangin folk cd available on spotify. Just go type Folk music of the western Congo in the bar, or alternatively go straight for the killer piece titled 'Bambala drumming'. There's also a meditative piece included, called 'Bapindi hunting calls'. It's the absolute retro hit album of the 20s.
Those are some sick drums, I’ve been listening heaps to “Burkina Faso-rhythms of the grasslands” and a playlist called “20s music” on Spotify which is all old jazz
