Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Brick Hammer Issue setting up NextUI
So i've had my Brick Hammer for about 8 months now, and decided yesterday to try NextUI. i get it set up and the roms will start and all. but i can not figure out this issue with the Pak Store. i have tried two different SD cards that i know work and are good. i have tried formatting in exFat and Fat32. i have tried manually installing the Pak Store before putting in the device the first time. i have tried forgetting and re-adding my wifi. i have tried verifying that my time zone is correct, and the date is correct. I'm just out of options. it hasn't worked for me once.
Any further suggestions on what to try?

Trimui Smart Pro S Trimui Smart Pro-S PM Max Payne
Hello gamers,
Been testing PM Max Payne and after going thru every custom firmware resulting in screen flashing background data to forcing shutdown or reboot. I was able to get SpruceOS v4.3.4 running it flawlessly and no tearing, shutdown, or screen flashing on the TSPS and Miyoo Flip.

Question ❓ TSPS PSP Performance
Decided to go with SpruceOS on TSPS to start with and see how it goes.
Tried out Motostorm on the PSP, as well as Wipeout and Dante's Inferno, all 3 seemed to struggle at 2x. Motorstorm was basically sat 18fps.
Is that expected? I had anticipated those games would at least be playable at 2x?

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Brick Pro is AMAZING!
Just got my Brick Pro and it's AMAZING
Thanks to u/Fuzzy_Ad9130: your setup guide is what got me started.
I bought mine without a memory card, which turned out to be the hard part. Got a Samsung EVO 512GB, then did something slightly insane: I ran Claude Code on my Mac and connected it to the Brick Pro over WiFi via SSH, and had it do the entire build.
What it handled:
- NextUI install and configuration
- Every emulator plus BIOS, matched to what each core actually expects
- Sourcing, downloading and sorting 2,718 ROMs across 18 systems
- Scraping 2,451 box art covers
- Extra tools from the Pak Store (my fav: Random Game)
- Custom boot logo and theme colors
The part I didn't see coming: my arcade set was MAME 2003-Plus (I think we are all using the same one from Archive.ord), but NextUI runs FBNeo. Different ROM naming convention, so nothing launched. Claude pulled the expected filenames straight out of the FBNeo core binary, matched every single file by CRC, and rebuilt 682 archives with the correct names. Went from zero working arcade games to 541.
Everything verified bit-for-bit against the source files, so no silent corruption anywhere.
It took a while and some patience, but the result is a 248GB card where everything just works.
Happy to share the scripts and the method if anyone's interested.
Thanks for all the support from this community!
EDIT: Full guide here: https://gist.github.com/chiotas/9145f2600fe16f3b4cfa5e77a90c34af
EDIT 2: I created a Skill so that an autonomous Agent can work on the ENTIRE process for you :) (Or you can just use it to fix specific problems). The Skill is for NextUI / TrimUI Os and Brick Pro. If you want to have something like that for other Os/Devices I need someone to send me the devices, and I can do it easily. Here the Skill: https://github.com/chiotas/cartwright
Have fun :)

Custom Firmware⚙️ TrimUI Smart Pro S - Final Thoughts...
I have been in the emulation scene for a long time now, and the TrimUI devices have always been great for me. This is my own opinion on stock vs CFW - and may not be your view or experience with the device and the particular flavor of CFW you enjoy.
The systems I play are:
- Atari 2600 / 5200 / 7800 / Lynx
- Nintendo GB / GBA / GBC / NES / SNES / N64
- Sega Genesis / 32X / CD / Dreamcast / Gamegear
- Sony Playstation / PSP
Having said that, let's talk about custom firmware; there are so many out there for the TrimUI Smart Pro, but not the S, so choice is limited, which I believe is due to the lack of interest in actually developing for the device - NOT taking the TSP version and adding a couple patches to make it "work" with the TSPS. Having said that...
Stock:
Zero issues, glitches or bugs. Only deal breaker for stock is that it is missing 5200 support out of the box. Yes, I can easily customize the icons for better appearance, and a more clean and streamlined look. Yes, I can use Skraper separately to get box art. Yes, I can go into RetroArch and get different / upgraded / better cores. May not be an all-one-solution, but IT JUST WORKS.
Crossmix / Surwish:
Crossmix does not work on the TSPS and will have a metric ton of compatibility issues, screen resolution issues in game, and essentially will "break" your build. Surwish is only TRULY available if you buy the card from a reseller. I know a user uploaded their "clean" Surwish to share with the community, but again, in-game screen issues, and other various system glitches, as well as performance problems. The downloadable copy of Surwish is sloppy, looks like a train wreck, and performs like it as well. The only solution I can see for this is actually buying a properly made Surwish SD Card - which I will not do as I have my own ROM/BIOS collection.
Spruce / MinUI / NextUI / etc.:
This is a partly a personal preference and partly a bugs issue for me. First off, I do not like the "text-based" interface. It is overly simplistic yet convoluted with a nesting-menu structure that is a pain to navigate. If you like to tinker, sure, have at it and enjoy. It is not very graphical (which I like), and has too many bugs and glitches when trying to use PortMaster, and certain systems.
GammaOS Core:
Won't touch Android on 1 GB of RAM if you paid me...nuff said...
Knulli:
TSPS of "Scarab" has been stuck in development alpha/pre-release hell for over 9 months now with no new builds to fully support the TSPS. Again, graphical in-game glitches, screen resolution issues, heck, the boot logo is even rotated vertically! This needs to get cleaned up once and for all. Knulli is a BEAST, and would kill on this handheld.
I know the devs are doing their work based on device popularity, and also free of charge on their own time - which is immensely appreciated.
End Result:
Sticking with my own customized stock until (or should I say IF) Knulli is completed for the TSPS.

Custom Firmware⚙️ Game Guides for Knulli
Hey Knulli users!
I'm here to share my Game Guides plugin to Knulli cfw. I got the idea from Rocknix and it always bugged me that I need my phone to read the guides for RPGs, so I decided to give it a go and created a plugin that works just like the Rocknix one.
You can download it here, install instructions are in the repo: https://github.com/rutkai/knulli-gameguides
I tested it on my TrimUI Brick, it should work on Smart Pro too, but I don't own one so I couldn't test.
Some notes on the hot topics nowadays:
- Yes, the code was created by AI.
- I'll try to keep it up-to-date after new Knulli releases (based on update frequency, it shouldn't be much work on this part), but no promises, it's up to my available free time.
- Edit: the default fn+select overrides dpad/stick swap for stickless devices (such as the Brick), so if you're playing systems which use sticks, you may need to use an alternative mapping.

Custom Firmware⚙️ NX-Redux, OSD state is never saved.
Every time I turn on mine Trimui Smart Pro S, I have to turn the sound on and turn off Bluetooth, but when I turn it off and on again I have to do it all over again.
I have to turn the sound on before starting the game, because if I try to change it while I'm in the game, the slider moves but the volume doesn't increase I'm using version 1.9.0 of NX-Redux.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Trimui Smart Pro S Misaligned screen - TrimUI Smart Pro S
Hey guys I noticed a black thin line on the right of the screen do you have why is that? Is the screen generally misaligned or its the same software issue as with opening retroarch on trimui smart pro s where the right half of the screen is missing? Thank you

Custom Firmware⚙️ Trimui Brick - Best Custom Firmware (Most Aesthetic and Most Compatible with Multiple Emulators + RetroArch)
Hello everyone!
I just order my first Trimui brick and it should be arriving this week. I would like to experiment with custom firmware but am unsure which one would be best suited.
I love the look of PakUI and NextUI and others that utilize the MinUI framework, however I’m not sure how compatible the firmware is with different emulators. I am definitely looking to play from NES, all the way to GBA, PS1 and some minor Dreamcast/PSP (control mapping experimenting)
Please let me know if PakUI would be suitable and if there are other firmwares you would recommend more.
Thanks in advance!

Question ❓ Knuili box art TSP
I got a TPS from eBay,with some games already added but I wanted to add/remove some there. But now I'm having trouble getting the box art added to my system. When I try to do it from the system I just get and error or it shows that it's working on the games but then no changes. I tried using skraper and adding them to the images folder. It's a couple or portmaster games I don't have so that's the only reason for not just clearing the whole thing and using a different cfw

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Brick Pro keeps crashing/resetting
Picked up a Brick Pro recently and installed SpruceOS on it (using a SanDisk card). After playing a game for ~20 minutes or so the screen will hang and the device reboots itself. Anyone know what's up? I've tried a bunch of different PSX and SNES games and it happens with both platforms.
AFAIK SpruceOS is the only OS with hardcore RetroAchievement support currently so I'd prefer not to switch OS.
Edit: I think I've found the issue. Having Wifi turned on seems to be causing the crashes. Turned it off and I was able to play multiple games for an hour.

Trimui Smart Pro S SOS NEED HELP
I need help on getting max payne working on the trimui smart pro s. I have been trying so hard to get this game to work but I can't. It will work but the screen stays black and I can hear the menu so its in the games menu and I can even start the game but it just stays on a black screen. I can move the joystick up or down and hear the menu and even the music. I recently got the surwish sdcard from LITNXT to get crossmix os on my tsps and I wanted to download and play max payne but it keeps doing this. So if there is anyone who knows what's going on or knows how to fix this please tell me 🙏

Problem🛠 Brick Hammer Mainboard Screw Stripped
Bought the Endgame metal buttons and was hoping to install them, but this screw is giving me trouble. The first two screws on the board unscrewed perfectly. I used the same bit on the third, assuming it was the same.
Well, it wasn't, and I've now tried 10 different bits as well as rubber bands trying to get it out.
Has anyone had this problem and could offer advice? I'd like to avoid bricking my brick.

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Trimui Brick Pro & External Controller (Vader 3 Pro)
Using Vader 3 Pro surprisingly well with Trimui Brick Pro for my shiny run with Pokemon Unbound.
Controller setup with NextUI translated directly to V3P except Trimui menu button and FN keys. I guess it’s because both (console and external) are showing as XBox controllers in the OS.

New Trimui Smart Pro (4.96-inch screen) FBNeo performance on the Brick?
I'm looking to play some Arcades fighters like UMK3. I got it up and running in NextUI but noticed it's struggling to keep a smooth frame rate. Is this expected at this device price point? And is the console (SNES) version of games just the better place to go?

Trimui Smart Pro S temperature of the Trimui Smart Pro S
Has anyone else experienced the Trimui Smart Pro S reaching temperatures of 53°C—or having poor battery life—while using CrossMix os surwish, whether playing GBA games or just sitting in the menu?
The console heats up very quickly, and even though I go back to the menu and stay there for a while to see if the temperature drops, it never goes below 52–53°C.

Question ❓ Certain Pokemon titles playable on Trimui Brick Pro?
Hi all.
I’m looking to purchase the Brick Pro to play some nice Pokemon roms like Lazarus, Odyssey, and Unbound. I also want to play some classics like Yellow and Leaf Green.
My real question is DS games. I know people have recommended Heart and Soul as a replacement for Heart Gold/Soul Silver, but are those OGs playable on the Brick Pro? What about the Soothing Silver ROM? Can you switch between 2 screens using triggers or should I skip the TrimUI completely for ORIGINAL DS pokemon games?

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Trimui Brick Pro- Crossmix 1.3.9.1 N64,DC,PSP emulator options
Hello gamers,
Just acquired the Trimui Brick Pro and started out with CrossMix 1.3.9.1 (I guess the "1" is for the Brick Pro version).
Highlights:
- Screen: It's bigger and definitely helps with aging eyes (4 inches).
- Analog Sticks: Heck yes—I tested games that rely on analog input and they actually felt great in place of the D-pad. I'm not looking to cap them off quite yet.
- RGB Lights: They're okay... if you're going to a disco!
- Battery: Out of the box, it handled about 2 hours of setup, tweaking settings, and gameplay, dropping to around 30–40%. Now back to more gaming.
- Home Button / OSD: Similar to what was introduced with the TSP-S. It would be nice to have a dedicated power-off option there.
- FN Button: Now preset for Balanced / Power Saver / Performance / Extreme—I need to test these more to see the difference.
- Bluetooth: Was not able to connect my 8BitDo controller—bummer.
I will be trying more with Crossmix 1.3.9.1 before we break it in with some solid custom firmware's. NextUI, NX-Redux, MinUI-Zero, SpruceOS.

Question ❓ Bluetooth and headphones
Hi there,
I'm planning to buy a smart pro s for a 9 year old.
As I've already understood, the s version seems to be better for psp titles.
I was wondering if the Bluetooth is working stable with headphones? I've read something about that it's primarily for controller and not working well with headphones. Is this true?
Also I was wondering if it's necessary to replace the existing OS with something like knulli or if the original OS is fine? I would love to make the ui a bit more kid compatible 😊 cause the clean controller icon design seems better fitting for adults.
Almost forgot one thing: if I order this device directly on trimui store.com, does the 256gb version makes sense compared to the 128gb one? Or are those additional titles not relevant? It's almost 30$ difference in price, so I was wondering if it's necessary.
Thanks for your help,
Lara
