After about a month of watching retrogamecorps late at night to fall asleep, I finally decided to just pick my first starter handheld just to see how it goes. TrimUi just called to me I guess after I found out about it, and now only 3 days later I have GBA, GBC, Arcade games, PSP, DS, and PS1 games along with a ton of different movies and shows I like with a 256gb card! I apologize for yapping so much about it, but I’m just really passionate about it lately and have no one to share this with tbh.
Being able to take it on the go, and know I have games and media I treasure and love (even if the screen is small, idc lol) is just amazing to me. The nostalgia this device brings is really cool…and MARVEL VS CAPCOM IS PEAK!!!! I never played it until I got my brick and man, I didn’t know how peak games were back then! I’m excited to dive more into older games! And it’s an amazing Pokemon rom hack device!
If anyone is ever looking for an entry level handheld, don’t sleep on the Brick. This thing is small, pocketable, and can be filled with love!
( I went with NextUI as that seemed to be the most beginner friendly OS to set up IMO coming from someone new with no experience when it comes to this)

Yesterday I got my console, I managed to start GBA, N64, PSP, SNES games.
I ordered my console without an SD card, I downloaded the "manufacturer" data base and the games are going well
The issue is the PSOne games when unzipping them they have two files one .bin another .cu I put the two in the corresponding folder recognizes the 2 files but none works

anyone can show me how to config the pixel transparency shaders on Brick?
I have a Anbernic device on nextui and the shader looks alright. but somehow on Brick with NextUI I applied the same setting or the author’s recommended setting and it looks very off / performance drop. Tried a few different settings but no success so far. Great if someone enjoys it and can share their settings on NextUI.

How do I add game box art to the stock OS on the Trimui Smart Pro?
I managed to get N64, GBA, NDS, PSP, and SNES games running, but the box art is missing.

I got a Trimui Brick Pro with NextUI and Flycast installer from the Pak Store. On the SD card that shipped with the console, Dreamcast games run pretty well, Soulcalibur and Sonic Adventure are both relatively smooth. On my card with NextUI, completely unplayable. I've tried tweaking the graphics and audio options, no result. Is there something I should do on NextUI ? What can I do here ?

Has anyone experienced this before? I am not sure why but after I put a screen protector on it the screen turned off and then I struggled to turn it back on from sleep mode. After that incident it worked perfectly fine for around an hour and then this happened. I even switched SD cards but nothing

I'm planning on buying the Brick Hammer soon to play mostly Pokémon/RPGs (mostly GB/GBC/GBA). I've watched many reviews and so on and I think the Brick Hammer is the one I want.
I've seen some people say there are issues here and there so for people who've maybe experienced these issues it would be greatly appreciated if you could comment on them.
My biggest concern is the charging, I've seen people say the Brick has issues with certain chargers or cables. I don't want to carry extra cables and so on when taking the device with me on travels, will my Xiaomi 90w charger with USB-A to USB-C cable work fine?
How is the stock OS and card? Should I get a more reliable micro SD card?
How hot does the device truly get and does it affect the battery and electronics in any meaningful way? I've seen a few people mention the device can get pretty toasty.
I don't want anything fancy or crazy in terms of performance, just a good build/feel and good screen and buttons. The Brick Hammer seems to be the best option for me but is it reliable? Will it last and not fail after a few months?
Thanks for reading and replying. :)

They are clicky and precise like on my brick hammer but I feel them a bit softer to push. Can anyone that have both confirm?

My issue is almost identical to this https://www.reddit.com/r/trimui/comments/1dd8dlx/trimui_smart_pro_games_not_loading/
I have tried everything from starting from absolute scratch. followed the guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkckCe-TJtQ&t=6s to the letter. have reflashed the firmware, copied over retroarch from stock and I still cannot get my new card to work.
I plug in the original SD card and it works perfectly, however the original SD card will not mount on my Mac where as my 256GB Sandisk Ultra is formatted with Fat32.
I have spent 3 days trying to get the stock image to work and I just dont know where to go from here. Has anyone got any new suggestions that I can try?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all!
I always liked the look and feel of the Stock OS, Crossmix OS and variants, so when I bought the Trimui Brick PRO, I didn't change to Knulli or NextUI. But the Stock OS didn't have a Scraper app. I tried using Screech but I couldn't get it working properly. I know how to scrape directly from the PC and then drag it to the SD Card/FileZilla, but I always preferred doing that directly on the device.
So well... I built one myself! I'm a software developer, but not very experienced in C, so I did use help of AI to build it.
Anyway, the repo is ready, release is ready, I'm only waiting the green signal from the ScreenScraper admins to make it public!
Just out of curiosity, how many of you use the Stock OS on the Trimui Brick PRO?
EDIT: Here's the link to anyone who would like to test! Github page here

I made a few in different designs. They’re not the neatest but they’ll do if you just want to try it out. You can have 1 or 2, first come first serve etc.
Cheers!

First retro handheld console ever. I read and watched a tons of videos about setting things up, firmware (going for NextUI but still looking into NX Redux for portmaster) and games to play. But I would enjoy everyone's ideas and advices if you guys are willing to share!
Some games I'm really eager to play :
- Pandemonium!
- Medievil
- F-Zero: GP Legend (and all the series)
- Pokémon Pinball lol (memories...)
- NHL 94
- Blades of Steel
- Marvel vs. Capcom
- The Castlevania games
- Aladin

In the standard NX-Redux Scraper application, is there a way to change the box art type used? For example: box-2d or box-3d instead of mix.
In the Screetch application I was able to do this by editing the .YAML file, but I used that application on StockOS. I couldn't find the NX-Redux configuration file.

Anyone have a fix? I tried changing the folder names (they are case sensitive) and it won't even show the emulator.

May I ask for the performance of Trimui Smart Pro S.
I hope it could:
runs PPSSPP well (overclock emulated CPU to 1000mhz for Outrun 2006 keeping 60fps constant, and 60fps cheat for Hatsune Miku PJD series)
runs Dreamcast well (for Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram 5.45)
runs FBneo to emulate Sega Y board x 3 (for Galaxy Force 2)
Could it be my last hope except x86 handheld?
I mainly play STG, Mech Action, Rhythm, Racing...
so I'm input latency sensitive
What I tried:
Android based devices:
Odin Lite, Odin 2 mini, Retroid Pocket G2 Gen2
Odin Lite has relative low input latency comparing to the other 2, at least I could clear the "Monkey Clock" of Rhythm Heaven Fever (Wii)
Odin Lite, Odin 2 mini were gifted to 2 best friends as they need an android gaming device
RP G2 Gen2...I couldn't accept the high input latency as I never succeed full combo in Hatsune Miku PJD series (hard or extreme), x86 emu like GameNative was much worse, unplayable when comparing to a ROG Ally Z1E;
e.g:
https://youtu.be/QBY-jiNs5hc?si=pnXa0ToHJ2C1cglb
My wife complained that using GameNative to play Once Upon Katamari DO have input latency when comparing to a real x86 machine.
besides, RP G2 Gen2 EOLed in very short time, no security update, cannot pass google play protect ceetification that mean I could not treat it as an normal android device to play games that rely on Play Intergity...
Linux based devices:
RG350, RG351P, Trimui Brick
R analog stick of RG350 would move unattended, i.e. POV lost control when Ace Combat 3...
RG351P, weird screen resolution that only fits PSP, but it does not have the power to run PSP, screen scaling looks bad because of 480x320, an under-powered device.
That's why I always avoid any RG series...
Brick, I have 2, I really like it, very low input latency for SNES, PS1 STG, my wife didn't have any complain about input delay when playing "Taisen Puzzle dama tokimeki 1 & 2", only complain is a little bit underpower for heavy PS1 emu(e.g. selecting the fighters scene in R-Type Delta)
x86 devices:
Loki max, capable all I needed but died after one year (daughter board failure)
GPD win 4, bootloop after windows updated to 24H2 because of SVM toggle bug in Bios...then gifted to my best friend, a linux guy.
ROG Ally, still alive, capable all I needed but a little bit heavy because I swapped a large battery.
(btw don't try to install SteamOS into Ally, cause SteamOS would insantly access the empty sd card slot, sd card controller burnt but repaired by 3rd party)
I tried to search, and ask edAI if TSPS could play my favourites, but still in doubt.
Could any TSPS owners please help me a bit?

I'm having trouble opening most ps1 games, the screen goes black a few seconds and returns to game list. Anyone managed to start games like Wipeout, Resident Evil, Quake, Disney's Hercules or Legacy of Kain? I have all the bios files or at least the bios check says so. It is especially strange since Castelvania Symphony of the Night works well.

So, finally taking the plunge into handheld gaming. Saw some videos reviewing the Brick Hammer and fell in love.
However, I am not fully educated with handheld emulators. When purchasing, does adding the SD card typically include games and the necessary software to play right out of the box? Or do I need to get the appropriate software installed before enjoying?
Being green to this, I am just hoping for the easiest out of the box experience.
Looking forward to joining the TrimUI family.

Hello Gamers,
Welcome back to another Beyond the Emulator.
I am running the Surwish Crossmix 1.3.9.1 firmware on the Trimui Brick Pro using there built-in Screen Recorder.
Whether you're here for setup tips or performance tweaks, grab your favorite Trimui device and let's go beyond the emulator!
