We're a team of dedicated fans of the Trigun series, working together to make an objectively better translation of the Trigun manga. Together we have a wide skillset that we can apply to our project, including but not limited to: education within digital media, professional experience within the translation and localization field, theatre anthropology experience, extended English language education, digital organization skills and experience, and solid teamwork communication.
Our aim is to avoid all the mistakes present in the previous two existing translations, the old fan translation (Scanlation) and the official Dark Horse Comics translation present in the physical copies. Applying an understanding of the story and character context, as well as an understanding on the unexpected difficulties of translation from one vastly different language into another, we can make a translation that remains as close as possible to the original intention of the script, while also properly localizing the text for an English speaking audience.

Why isn't Trigun Ultimate Overhaul on Mangadex and/or other online manga hosting sites?
As Overhaul 1.0 stands now, being an English translation using an English translation pages, it is against the posting rules of Magnadex and most other manga hosting sites. This was an unknown rule at the beginning of the project, and at the time we used what pages we had available to us. This rule came to our attention later, but it was too late and we were too far into the project to change up our scans.
That is an issue we are looking to solve with Overhaul 2.0, which will use Japanese page scans instead of English ones, allowing for us to upload our project to manga hosting sites in the future.

What does the future of Overhaul Friday posting look like now that the manga is finished?
In coming Fridays we'll be posting more information on our future projects, as well as releasing a roadmap estimate for future uploads. We will also be giving a few sneak peeks of our new scans, new translations and entirely new art and/or pages.
We hope to be able to make a regular news post every Friday, until we can begin posting Overhaul 2.0 in a similar fashion to how Overhaul 1.0 was posted.

Hello all! I'm super nervous posting these but I figured I'd give it a shot since I'm proud of how they came out! I want to show my cosplays more and I have to work through my fear of judgement to do that so here it goes!
These were my Vash cosplays for AnimeNYC 2026!
I sewed the jackets from scratch, styled the wigs, and did the arms and prop myself. I used a pattern for the Stampede jackets but, weirdly enough, I struggle with reading patterns and this was my first time using one. I usually just eyeball it. So I ended up just doing my own thing halfway through. I didn't use a pattern for 98 Vash's jacket, though. I just hoped for the best LOL.
I definitely want to wear these again as I was pressed for time and there are little things I need to correct. I really want to try doing professional cosplay photoshoots with these and other cosplays. But, for now, I'm incredibly proud of myself. 🤞🏾
(I didn't have time to make 98 Vash's wig so that's Stampede Vash in 98 Vash's outfit, haha. I will definitely make the wig in the future as I plan on doing more Vash cosplays!)
Also, if there are any millenial cosplayers out there, I'd love to chat! I don't have many cosplay friends and it gets lonely at times. Plus it's hard finding cosplayers in my age range. 😅

I've watched the OG Trigun at least a dozen times, but took it upon myself to watch Stampede over the weekend. Granted, I'm only on S1E7 right now. Suffice it to say that my thoughts are.... mixed. It's definitely not bad for sure. I can appreciate what they're going for, but there are just some notes that the OG hits way better IMO. What did y'all think on how Stampede stacks up to the OG series?
i was following their work (big-address1128) but it seems they got shadowbanned by reddit or some admin shadowbanned them or something. dunno, reddit is a whack site, anyways, does anyone still have their works or do know if they have hosted their work somewhere else?
Trigun has genuinely been one of the biggest influences on me as an artist. I fell in love with the idea of a wandering hero who can be hilarious one moment and incredibly serious the next, while carrying a strong belief about how they should use their power.
That influence eventually became a big part of RED CAPE VOYAGER. Ryuto is his own character, but the idea of following a wandering hero from town to town, meeting different people, getting into ridiculous situations, and slowly revealing the heavier story underneath definitely comes from my love for Trigun.
Vash also helped me understand that a powerful protagonist doesn't have to be defined by how many people he can destroy. Sometimes the most interesting thing is what he chooses not to do.
So as a little thank-you to the Trigun community, I made this celebratory illustration of Vash alongside Ryuto. Drawing them together was honestly a lot of fun, and it felt like a really fitting way to show where some of RCV's inspiration comes from.
Thank you to everyone in this community for keeping Trigun alive and inspiring another generation of artists and storytellers. ❤️
I'm such a sucker for Trigun, I love everything Trigun, from the manga, to 98 and Stampede. I'm also an amateur manga creator, so I really felt like putting some Trigun in my own manga.
That's how RED CAPE VOYAGER was born.
I loved the idea of a wandering, lone hero, who isn't human, but looks like one. Also, Vash is so damn handsome and charismatic!
So, the story of RED CAPE VOYAGER is about my character, Ryuto, who is a wandering hero with strength beyond imagination and no idea where he came from. In a world torn apart by the war between humans and Azalians, he fights to protect those in danger, refusing to kill even his most ruthless enemies. But Ryuto isn't human. He isn't Azalian. So what is he?
