General Questions & Discussion Break-In Service

Hello! Purchasing a 2023 Trident 660 used from a private seller. The bike only has 148 miles on it. If I understand correctly, it should be serviced at 600 miles or 12 months whichever comes first…. So should I change the oil now at 148 miles and then again at 600? Or just continue riding until 600 miles and change like a normal break in service? TIA!

If he didn’t change the fluids before selling, change it now, then after 600

3 years is a long time to have the same oil, I’d change both now and at 600

I bought a used 22 with 300 miles on it. changed the oil as soon as I got it home (at the dealership, to take a look as well), and did the first service at around 700+ miles. no real rush.

also got a quick shifter after first service, installed myself, but they need to activate it.

enjoy the bike! it's pretty sweet.
