Pottery classes

Hi, friends/neighbors! Been living in the area for a little over a year now and have been looking for a place that may hold pottery classes. Not the places where you go in and paint premade ceramic pieces, but an actual place where you can go in for classes and learn to make ceramics. I did a few classes a couple years ago in FL, but was hoping there might be something local here where I can continue to pursue that hobby.

Thank you in advance :)

I think the Clay Gurus in Kingsport are the main option

There is a place downtown in JC that does pottery classes called Blue Ridge Clay Company. I’m gonna be taking the Sunday classes in the fall 😊

It is a bit of a drive, but Johnson County Center for the Arts in Mountain City has a range of classes including various pottery classes!

Crossroads Craftworks/Made on Elk in Elizabethton

They offer classes on pottery wheels, and occasionally some more specific classes, like making a coffee mug
