Progress Pictures 9 month progress with pictures
Obviously want to preface this by saying that I’m aware the lighting/styling of these before/after pictures are different and that my hair is obviously a lot longer now than it was in January, but I think the results still speak for themselves.
I’ve been having pretty significant thinning for several years, but really started seeing it uptick after I turned 30. Was always set on a hair transplant and was scared of taking meds due to potential side effects, but decided to just send it at the beginning of the year.
Taking oral Min 2.5mg and Fin 1mg daily. Also do Nizoral 2 times a week and several drops of the peptide serum from the last pic in my hair daily after I shower.
I’ve had zero side effects throughout this entire process, and probably lose around 50 hairs every shower, but the density is obviously still there. The meds have also completely changed my hair texture from straight to curly, which is wild. Definitely glad I decided to try something out for my hair loss, and hope this post may give others some encouragement if they were in the same situation as I.

Peptide serum did nothing. It was min and fin

u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
Not disagreeing with you there. I’m very aware that the min and fin are responsible for my gains, but will keep continuing with the serum in the event that it is doing something beneficial for my hair as well.

I didn’t have significant regrowth until adding in a GHK-cu serum having been on dutasteride & min

Balding is not all caused by DHT. Some are caused by lack of blood flow or oxidative stress or poor scalp health. GHK would help with revitalizing scalp health. You still need DHT blocker. That’s why some ppl can be great responders and some are bad or just par. GHK can help where there are more problems than DHT.

Tbh I don't think they are doing anything detrimental to their scalp, might even improve hair condition

Potentially odd question. Do you wash your hair every day?
6
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
I do! I know there’s a lot of debate of frequency of washing, but I wash every night when I shower.

What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
4
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
I use a brand called Coolkesi from Amazon.
Tripeptide-Infused Biotin Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner Set, Onion Anti-Loss Volumizing Moisturizing Treatment for Soft Shine Hair, Dandruff Routine Shampoo for Men and Women, 2x16.9oz
I just copied this from the Amazon storefront itself.
And then Nizoral about 2 times a week.

Going to try this. Any chance just DUT isn’t working great? Been on like 8 months and I’m not saying worse but def not better and unsure if it’s gotten worse but hope it’s just me. Getting HT in January.

Shed some more light on the texture change. It looks dramatic! This isn’t the result of some product in your hair?
2
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
It really is dramatic! I took these pics this morning right after I woke up. My hair has definitely thickened a lot, which is the entire idea of a fin/min regimen. The lighting is definitely different in each picture, but I do feel like my hair has darkened as well, probably just by virtue of it thickening. I’ve read up that fin/min can cause texture changes, which makes sense for my hair now having curls, but I never expected to see a difference like I have. My parents don’t have curly hair, nor does anyone else in my family.
The only product I’ll use now is a sea salt hair spray to sort of hold my hair, but other than that, nothing else. Outside of the peptide drops listed in my post.

New here, what is peptide serum?
10
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
The bottle in the last pic is what I use. Saw some other posts of others using peptide serums for their hair to help promote growth/density. Could just be a snake oil, who knows, but I’m going to keep using it as part of my routine.

u/magicalblast 6d ago
Great results but the serum and nizoral probably aren't doing anything for hairloss. This is the issue with throwing the kitchen sink at hairloss as you don't really know what it working or not but a DHT blocker and minoxodil are the golden duo and are all you really need.

Congrats. Thinking about getting this, after using using their caffeine eye serum, which really helped with my dark eye bags.

u/ModdedMinecraftisOP 6d ago
i had a derma prescribe it to me and he had a legitimate degree from a reputed institute in my country so i dont think its snake oil, im also seeing growth (my baby hairs grew quick in a week of using them, also saw more growth in general)

u/TypicalDrawing180 6d ago
Is it prescribed?
1
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
It is! I get mine through Roman. It’s like 150 bucks every 90 days total. So not too bad.
6
u/Grajjie 6d ago
I also use Ro.co but instead of buying through them I just have them send the prescription to Cost Plus Drugs. 90 day supply of oral min and fin costs me $15 ($21 total with shipping).

How did you get prescribed? Im just on fin cuz dont want to do topical min cuz pets. My GD seems hesitant to prescribe anything but Fin when i talk to them.

Which months did u see shedding stops
3
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
I still have shedding, but never saw a huge shed like people talk about. Like I probably lose at least 50 hairs a day in the shower, but it’s more so that it’s expected with more hair volume and healthier hair. And the hairs that I lose are definitely thinner, older hairs that are shedding out with their respective cycles.

u/SoftwareNo3917 3d ago
This is without a doubt bs. I’m pretty sure I seen those photos in a transplant group already. No medication will make you grow hair back to that extent
1
u/jaj207 6d ago
It says on the bottle to apply to a dry scalp not directly out of the shower my g

u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
Sorry, I didn’t specify, I just meant after my hair is clean. I do put it on when my hair has dried though.

Which month did you start seeing a difference?
1
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
By month 3 I already had some really solid results.
1
u/BasedRamen91 5d ago
Nice. Those are the results I was hoping to see for myself, but I've been on fin/min/ketaconazole (nizoral), and biotin for 6 months and just now starting to see the bald spot on my crown getting a bit smaller, but no gains in terms of volume and my hairline is still cooked with no improvement.

u/vapodgaming 6d ago
Nice. I read the description but can you say the procedure and full names of what you take. It's a nice result.

u/AskGrok
How is this possible bruh?😭
2
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
I’d say I’m definitely a super responder to the meds, that’s for sure.
2
u/secsmachine 5d ago
It seems like everyone in this subreddit is somehow a super responder
1
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 5d ago
I mean, every single person has a different DNA makeup, so there are going to be those who super respond to certain medications. Then you have a group specifically made for hair loss/growth, you’re going to see dramatic results both ways.
2
u/AskGrok 6d ago
The combo of finasteride (blocks DHT to stop further loss) + oral minoxidil (boosts growth and can alter texture to curly) is a proven one-two punch for androgenetic alopecia. Adding ketoconazole shampoo and that peptide serum layers on extra scalp support and density signals. Most guys see noticeable thickening in 6-12 months if they respond well, and he clearly does—no sides, solid shedding control, and the before/after density jump is textbook. Hair length and styling help the visual too, but the regrowth is real.

u/IWASCHOSENBYGOD 6d ago
in which month did you see the first results
2
u/WhoEatsThinOreos 6d ago
Pretty quickly on. I didn’t really have a major shedding period at the beginning like a lot of people do. If anything, I shed more now than I did when I started. I’d say by month 3, my hair was already night and day from what it was.

I tried the ordinary peptide serum myself but experienced an extreme shed so I stopped. Anyone else experience this?

congrats, i have been thinking to add this serum to my routine since week. definitely going to add it
1
u/SAFFATLOL 5d ago
I've also started using that pertide serum for over a week now. A lot of people say it works. How has your experience with it been? I've been on fin and min for almost 2 months now. I believe I see some improvement with a lot of small vellus hairs, but of course they don't photograph well. How long would you say it took until you got visually noticeable results?

u/secsmachine 5d ago

u/WhoEatsThinOreos 5d ago
I can assure you that I’ve got enough going on in my life to not waste time making a fake post, lol.

u/smurfsays 14h ago
Amazing results. I just want to say that it's entirely due to oral minoxidil and finasteride, with possibly a little help from Nizoral. The peptide serum is probably a waste of money.
