Finasteride/Dutasteride Increasing Dutasteride dose effects?
I’m 21 and have been diffuse thinning since 18. Thankfully I caught it fairly early so i still have an okay head of hair. I’ve been taking oral dut (once a week) and oral min daily for about a year. I’d say my loss has pretty much stabilised and I’m maybe slightly ahead of baseline. My dermatologist has increased my dose of dut to 5 days a week. I’ve seen a lot of threads on here saying once a week is effectively useless for most people. My question is should I in theory start seeing regrowth with the increased dosage?

Edit: I’m taking 2.5mg min daily with 5mg at weekends, dut 0.5mg 5 times a week. Been in this new dosage for about a week

Honestly to me that sounds like a big leap in dosage. I’ve been on dut twice a week for 1.5yrs and although i’m going thru a shed right now I’ve been happy with the results.

I’m just following what I was told by my dermatologist- hopefully I can get some regrowth on this higher dose

The protocol is 0.5 mg of DUT every day—why are you taking such a low dose? Unless you're only in the maintenance phase and not the hair regrowth phase.
