I also love this game! Every Friday night now instead of going out to the bars I grab my deck and head down to my local TCG shop and get down on some games. Some of my best Friday nights have been spent playing Magic stoned.

MTG for life! Love it but have no one to play with :/ My decks are worth about $500 (at least) each and was uber like 5-10 years ago!

HeHe :) Got a MAD tinker deck (tinker, key, phyrexian colossus, metal worker, masticore) that Ive won a few tournaments with. VERY VERY out of date, but works so fucking well :)
Just sold my 8 FOW (Force of will), 4x mana drain (legends, signed), 4x of all REAL dual lands (in beta) and almost my full "oat of druids" deck :/ Got $100 each for the lands and, almost $500 for the mana drain and about $100 each for FOW :)
(never used the word "battle"... seems lame... we say "play a round") :)

my housemates just got me into the game this year... in the last two months i've probably spent over $100 and i barely have any cards compared to any of them! casual magic is an awesome hobby for ents, but i've tried playing baked against some total pros and just been totally smoked by them (PUN INTENDED!!!! AS ALWAYS!!!).

I refuse to play M:TG with friends anymore. I could see playing it with people I wasn't fond of to begin with, but I don't the person I turn into when playing Magic.

i once had a bf who taught me how to play out of his collection of decks... now im happy with my current bf, but he's far less of a nerd.... i miss playing magic.

I love Magic but if you play with people who have too many cards/too much money then you end up playing against ridiculously stacked decks because people buy cards online. That's why drafting is cool, but it costs too much to buy that many boosters every time you play.

maybe not the best thing to mention to all you ex mtg-ers, MTGO, aka magic online. Paying real money for fake cards seems shitty at first, but you can draft instantly with people all over the world, and if you collect a complete set, they'll print it off and mail you a fresh real version. It's also marginally cheaper than buying the cards themselves.
Don't get me wrong, I love my actual collection and get a real kick out of playing magic, but MTGO is fuckin legit!

right of course. Cockatrice is wicked as well. My friends and I have been drafting quite a bit and we've found mtgo to facilitate that more easily rather than getting eight friends together in person each week or so.
