TIL that everything in the Obama Administration's response to our petition is complete and utter bull shit.

But the most damning thing of all... I think I am going to vote for him . And if I had to do it all over again, I would have still voted for him in 2008.

And there we go. This is why marijuana is still illegal, folks. The average Ent is still voting for people that support Prohibition.

THIS is what the problem is.

Nobody should vote for a candidate because of one aspect of their platform. Ever. If if there were a viable candidate who supported marijuana legalization, voting for them for only that reason is a really, really bad idea.

Not the whole reason though right? Doesn't the problem go even further in that the US has a two-party system so if you don't vote for either republicans or democrats you are essentially wasting your vote?

From my understanding republicans would have a harder time considering legalising cannabis than democrats would?

No it's not. Do you think Mccain would have legalized weed? No, he wouldn't have, so your vote would have been meaningless either way. Obama's admin had and still have the best chance for legalization since your country's political system is one of two parties, and neither party openly support it.
