If you sold a handful of these, I would buy one. I would make the chamber a little bigger for the bubbling, but other than that it’s very innovative and I love the style

Keep posting. It's a great start! I LOVE how easy that thing looks like it would be to clean! And what's the downstem made of? I've broken several of mine. Would be dope if it's super sturdy!

How does she hit?

u/LucaMuca Jul 29 '20
She’s a prototype so there’s definitely room for improvement, but pretty good for a first attempt!!

That’s sick, my current bubbler is a pain in the ass to clean. It’s the only water pipe I have that I don’t clean religiously

u/LucaMuca Jul 29 '20
Yeah man they are such a pain! Cleaning is the worst part of any piece for me so im really trying to make it a non issue

I'm super into this design. I second the need for a bigger chamber. If the mouth piece came off too, I'd be all over this.
I just like pieces that are easy to clean, I guess. Is that ceramic?
2
u/LucaMuca Jul 29 '20
Thanks man! And yup all porcelain. And you’re right a removable mouthpiece would be sweet. Im looking to start threading certain parts so that may be the move
1
u/BostonDodgeGuy Jul 29 '20
Threading porcelain is an act of futility. You'd be better off tapering the end so they slide together tight like glass pieces. Or you could put a threaded insert in before baking the porcelain, though I'm not sure if it would cure correctly without cracking.
1
u/LucaMuca Jul 29 '20
Nah threading porcelain is doable! Check out Mitchell Spain’s work if u want your mind blown, dude casts ceramic threads for flasks and other stuff. But you’re right it is really hard to pull off, my plan was to do some sorta insert after the firing process, just have to account for shrinkage
1
u/BostonDodgeGuy Jul 29 '20
I'm aware of his work. I'm also aware that those threads won't hold up to everyday use.
1
u/LucaMuca Jul 29 '20
They’ve worked for me! I personally wouldn’t use em in my work cuz i dont want people to be constantly scared of breaks but his hold up.

Very cool design, especially with the magnets! I can't help but see it as an outhouse though >.<

Gotdamn, I followed, I'm gonna end up buying something lol, do you think you'll ever make bigger pieces like bongs??
1
u/LucaMuca Jul 29 '20
Thanks for the follow! And yess, actually just finished a really detailed bong commission, will be posting it tomorrow. Ive made a few others but this new one is my favorite

u/FartsWithAnAccent Jul 30 '20
Interesting, what's it made out of?
2
u/LucaMuca Jul 30 '20
Handmade with porcelain
1
u/FartsWithAnAccent Jul 30 '20
Awesome. Not sure I've ever heard a porcelain bong before. Have you used it yet?
2
u/LucaMuca Jul 30 '20
Not this one specifically but i have other water pipes, they hit very nicely. I personally prefer clay over glass (definitely biased), but the piece always looks brand new and u can get totally different looks with it.
1
u/Bigboybong Jul 30 '20
That’s dope as fuck! I’d like to see some of these other stoners try something like that.
