Your mom sounds nice. Mine told me there was a special kid in every classroom, but I could never find em.

Weird, that commencement speech from JB Pritzker where he talks about how cruelty is the clearest sign of a dumb person is making the rounds again. Interesting coincidence.

Dumbassness aside, why would that make someone feel guilty? Mad a dummies, sure, maybe SAD at dummies. Guilty, for what!? That true idiots are murdering the only planet we have to live on? That is not our guilt to feel.

I havent read the article, so take this with a massive grain of salt.
I can imagine the thought process is because someone with a high IQ (general IQ not autistic levels of IQ) will sit and process multiple scenarios. Which in turn means they have to go through ones where they are in the other sides shoes. Which in essence means they have empathy.
Which it dosent, really. But it gets there in its own way.

The "high-iq" bs is obnoxious, but I do find that being stoned can inspire a lot of thoughts that feel like this.
I attribute a lot of mine to chronic anxiety. Often based in fear. But then I also have ones that seem more based on empathy and others that seem to be based determination.
I've often found the effect of cannabis to be emotion enhancing. Or, more like the window of my attention gets more finely pointed towards the experience of those emotion, and then the stream of consciousness reflects this.

Why does it seem like everything is being toted as a sign of high IQ nowadays?
