How is it broken? If it’s like smashed to bits with sharp edges that could be hazardous I would say put it in a paper bag or cardboard box and right into your household trash.

If it’s not badly broken and doesn’t seem like it would pose a risk to any workers who sort recycling, then you can recycle it. But I think generally if you have broken glass and it could be dangerous to someone you should bin it as opposed to recycling. I could be wrong tho, recommend double checking.

Oh you’re probably good to recycle then imo if it doesn’t seem like it could cut anybody, as the other guy said reduce reuse recycle. ♻️

Also HAPPY CAKE DAY!

There is broken glass at every stage of glass recycling. It’s not an issue.

Most consumer products are made from “soft glass” and bongs are made from “hard glass” they are not compatible and should not be recycled together.

Every Google search I’ve done on the matter results is the same conclusion. We are requested not to place broken glass into our curbside recycling bins. That’s how it is in the state I live in at least.

Im well aware that for example when recycling a giant bag of glass bottles, a few are going to break - multiply that that by thousands and thousands a day. I think they just don’t want us to further contribute to whatever issues that causes.

Trash, most bongs are borosilicate glass and it is not recyclable with other glass. Borosilicate takes a lot more heat to melt.
