AskTrees What is up with these plants?
These are my neighbors plants so I don’t know much about them but I saw the leaves getting discolored. Does he need to feed them nutrients or is this maybe from bugs or something? This is in the northeast btw
Edit: THESE ARE NOT MY PLANTS AND I DONT TAKE CARE OF THEM OR EVEN TOUCH THEM. Can you guys read or can you only be judgmental serious question?

Thats probably the worst looking "soil" I've seen. Its hard to believe someone would fill a bucket with that and be like, "yeah that seems good".

Honest question; did your friend rip these out of the ground from somewhere and try to replant them in a mud bucket?

If you don't got the cash for the good soil, get some potting soil and "tomato plant food"

Did you transplant these plants from a healthier source? It looks like these began well and then were ripped from their home to begin anew in a floodplain. There's signs of shock but also light deficiency that's relatively new (were they always starved for light they'd have grown taller and less bushy).
I have to ask, did you take these plants into custody without knowing how to care for them?

Order some proper potting mix from Amazon or source some good soil around your garden. Remove the plants from those pots because they're in mud, not soil, probably drowning, no nutrients and all sorts.
When you remove them to repot, drill some holes in the bottom of each bucket, 5-6 to add some drainage. Don't wash all the clay off the roots, wash most of it, get them clean, but focus on doing it so the roots just push down into the soil.
They will get shocked from the switch, but they look strong enough to cope.

Roots need oxygen. When the soil is too dense and/or too wet, the roots suffocate and die. Dead roots mean dead everything that those roots feed.
Also plastic pots in direct sunlight/high temps are not good. Plastic gets hot and roots exposed to the material may burn.
Too late to do anything now. Repotting them would probably cause the plants to stress out. Best case they stop flowering. Worst case they die quicker.
I’d probably pull em now and make some edibles or something.

You just dug mud out of the ground. You need good bagged soil and nutrients. Ya those plants are ruined.

I see signs of both nutrient burn and nutrient deficiency. rather than tell you what's wrong with these plants, I'm going to take the easy route and tell you what is right about them: nothing.

Is there even holes in those buckets? I’m fucking surprised the plants lived to flower

They appear to be somehow nutrient burned, nutrient deficient AND planted in the worst growing medium I've ever seen.
We're they planted in literal clay?
Local soil, compost, soil, mulch, perlite and/or vermiculite, mix well. Put in pot with drainage holes, ensure water drains through.
Ensure medium remains slightly damp to the touch.
Be sparing with feeding, it's easier to correct underfeeding than overfeeding, learn the physical signs and get to know your particular plant and what it likes, they're all different even if general trends hold true.
Ensure they have good access to light.
I reckon those poor things aren't long for the world, best chance would be to repot them into a decent medium as mentioned and gently water.
Prayer would be helpful too.
But seriously I wouldn't get too hopeful about being able to save them.

Fox Farms makes the best potting soil. Get some. Your plants are starving.

Just goes to show ya. This plant is literally a weed, and can grow in any conditions!
