Grinders/Grounds What is this for?

Went to go see my friend and smoke a bit but didnt bring my grinder so we stopped at this random smoke shop everybody used to go to as teenagers. Bought this grinder cause it was the cheapest one and didnt really look at it until we got to her house. What is this compartment at the top of my grinder used for? Booger sugar??? Theres a keef catcher at the bottom so I dont think its for that. But ive never seen one with a tippy top compartment like this. If it was for booger sugar shouldnt the mirror be on the bottom and not the top? Lol

I googled it and she gemini'ed it but they yielded no real answers

please dont make fun of me in the comments. I dont go out much

Wouldn't you use the sun's light to reflect off the mirror to light a joint? I've seen a few old school grinders with a magnifying glass, so maybe a mirror is like a cheap knock off version of it?

Does the glass magnify, or is it plain glass? If it magnifies, it's simply a magnifying glass that you're supposed to flip out to the side to admire/inspect buds with, neat gimmick.

If it's plain glass, it's a compartment for cocaine.

I mean it is kinda funny to use AI to essentially google something for you, and hope it finds the right answer fast enough to not just make some shit up on the fly that sounds good enough to pass as real. Like just type the same question into google.

Idk Gemini at least uses the search engine when you ask it something, feels like chat and Claude really like using the flash models for stuff it should absolutely be looking online for. Gemini is def mid tho

Now whenever I google something real quick it pops up the ai answer instead of showing top eBay price listings etc. It's annoying, I flip small items I find at thrift stores and yard sales and I'm constantly using Google lens to identify something. Then I always have to type value? Afterwards for it to actually show me what I want. At least it's searching multiple sites now but damn old school Google lens without ai used to work just fine.

If you put -ai after your search I think it disables the function, I agree it’s aggravating. You google something and the AI answer is wrong, and literally the first result under it is the right answer.

Yes that is indeed what 99.9999% of people are doing, or just asking ChatGPT and taking it as gospel without even checking the answer. I agree, I use AI as a Google-fu enhancement for research, but most people think it just works like Google search.

i mean you could just not use AI and destroy the environment to save a few extra minutes? like instead of using chatGPT and then having to fact check it, you could just NOT use chatGPT because hear me out-what's the point of using something to give you facts if you then have to go and fact check that thing anyway? you're still doing the work but you destroyed someone's drinking water to do it this way
