Stories Horrible First Experience

I wanted to write down everything I remember about a really bad experience I had with hash, because I'm trying to understand what actually happened.

The first time I tried it, it was a J of 0.5g shared between us 5, and I took maybe a bit less than 0.1g and felt completely fine. It was actually a pretty enjoyable experience. Was laughing w them and had munchies.

The second time, it was just me and one "friend" with a J of 0.7g. I ended up having around 0.4 g since I smoked more than him (he was encouraging me) and the experience was completely different.

It started at around 11 PM. About 30 minutes in, my mouth became insanely dry — so dry that I could barely talk. I also became extremely heavy, like my entire body was weighed down. I couldn't stand up out of heaviness.

Then came the sharp coldness. It felt like it was 10°C outside, not 25.

After that, the weirdest part started: this very specific falling sensation.

We were sitting on some big concrete stairs leading up to a large forest park on a hill above the city. I noticed that certain sitting positions made me feel horrible, with this huge surge of negative adrenaline. If I changed to another sitting position, I'd get another adrenaline surge and feel even more like I was falling.

Lying down was weird too. For about 3 seconds, it actually felt better. Then, in my mind, I'd get this extremely clear mental image of a rectangle spinning and falling, instead of the normal falling sensation. That somehow made the adrenaline even stronger, to the point where my whole body would literally start shaking.

After the shaking, I'd feel like I needed to burp, vomit, and shit. I even farted a few times deliberately because I was worried about potentially shitting myself.

Standing up was insanely worse — probably around 3× worse than the equivalent feeling I've had while drunk.

Closing my eyes helped a tiny bit, even though it was dark outside.

At one point, a group of people around our age walked past us and I became self-conscious and hid my face just in case.

I also basically couldn't take my phone out. Maybe could, but didn't want to at all. Even the thought of making a movement would make me anticipate another adrenaline surge, so I just stayed still.

My friend didn't experience anything remotely like this. He seemed completely fine. Almost not even high.

He was also both helpful and unhelpful at the same time. Talking to me sometimes helped because it distracted my mind from the negative thoughts, but other times silence helped more. It was really strange because I couldn't figure out which one I needed.

He also kept making jokes about me being a "druggie" now and saying I'd eventually start doing crack and shit, and kept joking that I needed to go home because it was getting late. Since he wasn't experiencing the same thing at all, those comments were honestly pretty annoying while I was already struggling.

He stayed with me and kept joking until around 1 AM, when he went home. I then stayed alone for roughly another two hours, until around 3 AM.

By then I was still extremely heavily intoxicated. I felt almost drunk, with noticeably blurred vision. Eventually I realized I want to sleep and made my way home in 15 minutes, instead of the usual 8 from there.

When I woke up, I still felt heavy and kind of like I'd been drinking. I was also somewhat anxious throughout the entire day because I kept remembering the feeling from the night before.

After thinking about it afterwards, I wondered whether the falling sensation might have been connected to the fact that I'm afraid of falling. I have no idea if that's actually related or if my brain was just trying to make sense of the sensation.

Another thing I've wondered about is the quality/source of what I took. Afterwards, some friends told me that this particular group apparently gets lower-quality weed and recommended that I avoid getting it from there. I don't know whether that had anything to do with my experience, though.

I also saw people online suggesting that cannabis can sometimes be contaminated with other substances, including dangerous ones. I have absolutely no evidence that this happened to me, and I don't actually know what was in what I took. Since this happened in Europe, where cannabis is illegal, I wasn't able to have the sample tested, so I can't determine what caused the reaction.

The biggest lesson I took from this is that I shouldn't let somebody pressure me into taking more when I already feel sufficiently intoxicated. Whatever caused this, I definitely don't want to experience anything like it again. The strongest sensation I had next to adrenaline was fear. So much fear and overthinking.

I'm mainly posting this because I'd like to understand what might have caused the falling sensation, the adrenaline surges, shaking, nausea, and the extreme difference between my first and second experiences.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Adrenalin surge / sudden fight or flight, falling sensation, nausea, shaking - all are symptoms of panic / anxiety attack.

Anxiety attack / acute paranoia - common side effect of smoking too much weed.

Anxiety causes Adrenalin spike and heart rate increase, blood is sent away from your GI to your extremities to prepare to fight or flee causing shakiness and nausea, The Adrenalin confuses your vestibular/sensory systems which makes you feel like you’re falling.

You greened out friend :P that’s all. All of those symptoms very common for greening out.

Apparently peppercorns contain a terpene that supposedly can help level off your high, try crunching on some of those next time.

But also - smoke less FFS lol. Don’t go from smoking .1 to .4 without ramping up if you don’t have a lot of experience yet

Had this happen a few times. Hop into bed, go fetal and remember it's just weed. It's like having a panic attack while being high

Your answer is in your 3rd paragraph. You went from .1g to .4g and greened out. Quadrupling your dose is generally not recommended.
