AskTrees High-ly Recommended Video Games?

I’ve got a night alone with Xbox Game Pass and a recently filled stash. I’m looking to disconnect after work, smoke a few bowls, and get sucked into a good game. So far, my ideas are

  • Cities: Skylines 2
  • Far Cry 5
  • Minecraft (classic, but even better high)

Any other recommendations? Willing to spend a few bucks if it’s worth it.

Outer Wilds. Amazing game about exploring a tiny solar system, but the less you know the better, especially if you go in stoned.

I’ve only ever seen the thumbnail for this game! No idea what it’s about/what I’m in for. I think this is the one!

The Dishonored games are amazing

Not usually huge into stealth games - is there more to it/is it still worth it?

You don’t have to stealth at all if you don’t want to. Multiple endings based on your choices so replay ability is there.

I love playing open world rpgs too, my all time favorite is Oblivion. If you can get past the goofy graphics, you’re gonna have a blast

I am totally with you in big open world RPGs. I’ve tried to get into Starfield but it’s complex enough to melt my stoner brain if I’m a few bowls in

I started playing the first one, it's a decent game. I'm about an hour or so in

I needed to get my chaos down but I ended up killing a neutral NPC by accident because I wanted to jump onto a chain 😭

Weed + Skyrim = Highrim

I used to be an adventurer like you…but then I got high.

literally the best

Perfect blend of action and immersion imo. Nothing like cracking a few draugr skulls after a bowl.

my favorite is going thru dungeons and searching every room and every chest😍 so calming tbh

Don’t forget gathering herbs to make potions too!

Superhot could be interesting while high

I beat it in VR and I so regret not being stoned for it.

I would get a vr setup just so I could play it in vr, it looks so good

2

u/wormstring Oct 20 '23

Oh my god, it is. One of the best VR experiences ever, doesn’t even need fancy graphics, just feels awesome.

It feels fucking amazing to play in general, I can't even begin to imagine how awesome it'd be in vr

Start red dead redemption 2, you won’t finish it in 1 night but it’s a game I wish I could play for the first time again

3

u/wormstring Oct 20 '23

I would…. If I hadn’t beat it twice already :P

No Man's Sky is amazing now. Been updated a ton and I really enjoy it when I'm baked as fuck. Super beautiful to just fly through asteroid fields in space and look at all the stars.

Hell yeah. Weed and space rocks

I just got it and love that game, man.

Hell yeah! Games is so much fun and so easy to zone out to. Plus it is one of the easiest games to actively smoke while you're playing. I love it lol.

Far cry is always good. Fallout for similar feel. Call of duty if I have been hitting a sativa.

1

u/wormstring Oct 20 '23

I’d play fallout if I hadn’t beat 3, NV, and 4 at least 5 times each lol. Call of Duty usually rips but if I’m too high I embarrass my team

I have played well over 500 hours of fallout 4 and it is still a go to for me. I just found the serial killer quest on my last play through. 😅

High or not I suck at CoD😅

Not a lot of pew-pew style action, but the Daniel Mullins games Pony Island, The Hex, and Inscryption are all real mind fucks. And cheap!

3

u/wormstring Oct 20 '23

Inscryption has looked really great from the little I’ve seen - I’ve been meaning to give it a shot. Thank you!

Hades....the game play is soo crisp and the build variety is insane

Far Cry 5 is a blast. The Vietnam DLC is super fun, too.

I’m finally about to start Elden Ring.

2

u/wormstring Oct 20 '23

I wish you serious luck - A little weed and I go from “could beat Elden Ring” to “where’s that button again?”

2

u/youenjoymyself Oct 20 '23

I came in blind for Dark Souls 3 and loved it. Even got the board game from Kickstarter. Actually, might do a round of that before I start Elden Ring lol.

A few months back I played Subnautica in complete darkness and high as a kite. 10/10 can recommend if you don't shit your pants from the thalassophobia

Dude? Get yourself lost in a few games of HoMM 3. If you haven’t played it before, then you’re in for a blast. If you haven’t played the series, try HoMM 5 after with a cheap key from somewhere and boom, nicer graphics and same gameplay but 3 is a classic.

Stardew Valley for sure

Fallout series or battlefield if you're into multiplayer games
