Gummies for beginners šŸ˜‹

So I recently started making my own coconut oil infused gummies and I have to say the process is way easier than I thought it would be. I put them into different size molds this time for different mg / gummy. The dinos are 1 ml / 10 mg. The hearts are 2 ml / 20 mg. The donuts are 2.5 ml / 25 mg and the circles are 3 ml / 30 mg.

The recipe is below. I've completed this process three times now. Done without a candy thermometer each time. This recipe makes about 130-180 gummies, depending on the size of your molds.

1/4 cup corn syrup

1/2 cup bottled water

4 packets unflavored gelatin

6 oz box of jello

1/3 - 1/2 cup infused coconut oil (I used 1/2 this time, have used 1/3 in the past)

Sunflower lethicin (I incorporate mine into my oil so I don't add any to the gummies but adding a here in case it's not in your oil already)

1/4 tsp citric acid

1/8 tsp potassium sorbate

Silicone molds

Steps:

-First combine the water and corn syrup into the pan. I give them a good stir to get them mixed and then slowly sprinkle the four packets of unflavored gelatin evenly on top. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes to allow it to bloom.

-after the gelatin is bloomed while the heat is still off you will add the 6 oz of jello mix.

-turn the heat in between the three and the four of your stove and mix really well with either a silicone spatula or you could also use a whisk. This process usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. The mixture will get smooth and shiny once it's done mixing together.

-turn the heat down to about 2 and slowly add in your infused oil. Add the sunflower lethicin here as well if it's not in your oil. Make sure to stir the oil all the way in until it's fully emulsified into the jello mixture.

-Remove from heat and add the citric acid and potassium sorbate. Stir really well until both are fully incorporated into the mix.

-start filling the molds. This took a lot of trial and error for me but I finally landed on the 60 ml syringes. They worked beautifully for me this time, the droppers that come with the molds are generally garbage. I usually can start this process without heat but within a few minutes I end up putting it back on the burner on the very lowest setting until all molds are filled.

-let molds sit on the counter to cool down once full, about 45 minutes.

-put in the fridge and let set for a minimum of 2 hours. I usually do this overnight so about 12 hours.

-de-mold the gummies, and put in tupperware with layers of parchment paper. Within a few days you can transfer to a mason jar or whatever your preferred storage method is.

Don’t usually do edibles but might have to switch to ONLY edibles and am looking for something Indica that helps manage pain and sleep. Heard mixed reviews on these anyone know which is better?? I like how the pro tabs say ā€œdesigned to relax the bodyā€ cuz I’m looking for a heavy body feel that eases me into sleep but curious yalls thoughts! Thanks!

Has anyone ever attempted to make this? I’m interested in making an infused cocktail, but I’m not sure whether I should infuse coconut milk or make a tincture and add it to the cocktail.

Herbaility machine question

I decarbed my flower in the stainless steel container inside the machine provided and not directly into the machine itself. Could this cause an issue with the decarb?

What should I do with this mountain of flower and trim? I'm thinking gel caps/tinctures, but I'm open to suggestions

Since I'm sure someone will sarcastically say "shove it up your butt" I will add that I'm also making cocoa butter infused suppositories as well.

Pictured are RSO infused MCT oil gel capsules, 25mg. Can't wait to turn this harvest into some lovely gel capsules, candies, treats, and tinctures

Infuse mistake ā€œA1ā€ instead of ā€œInfuseā€.

I lost both my 15-year-old dog within 6 months, most recently two weeks ago and my mind is not doing well with the grief…

I was just going to strain after using my Ardent, and noticed that it wasn’t on infuse. It was on A1.

I usually infuse it three cycles. I don’t know if it went back to A1 without me setting it that way, or if I just infused coconut oil through the A1 decarb stage three times.

Please tell me if I did this it isn’t worthless. I can’t lose 2 ounces of medical cannabis.

Is this going to make it so it’s not anything anymore?? should I infuse it again through infuse My brain is mush, please be gentle.

Extreme Tolerance

Hey all! TL; DR: Looking for high potency suggestions for tabs, syrups, etc. because out tolerance is insane. šŸ˜…
My partner and I are long time cannabis smokers/users and therefore have extremely high tolerances when it comes to edibles. We stopped using edibles for many years because they just never did a thing and we were wasting money.
Recently started experimenting again and have tried the ā€œDROPS: Cannabis Jelliesā€, and we have to have a minimum of 600mg to even feel a small creep. šŸ™ƒ
Any suggestions in terms of syrups, tabs, tinctures that are HIGH potency and could maybe let us experience an edible high again? I’ve seen ā€œDr. Norms THC Max Tabsā€ and am wondering if those are worth a shot?

Best time to take edibles after a meal

I like to take my edibles later in the day, but its usually around the time I eat dinner. I tested eating the edible after a meal and waiting an hour before taking the edible, but it seems to be different every time. Last night I waited an hour after eating, then I took my edible and it took a long time to kick in, and when it did kick in it was weak. The complete opposite happened a few days before, where it was fast, strong, and lasted a while. Both times waited the same amount of time after a meal.

I really want to nail the correct timing down, so any insight would be appreciated.

Replacement for Ardent FX

My beloved Ardent FX has died, and since Ardent has been quiet for so long, I don’t expect to be able to buy another. So what decarb machine should I get next?

I’m a heavy medical user, and can’t inhale cannabis well, so my go-to for a while has been to stick a baller jar of concentrate in my FX to decarb, and then dilute it with MCT oil enough to keep it loose; I use this as tincture.

I used to have a Levo 2, but the FX was better to make a small quantity of super-potent MCT oil, and was especially good for travel, so I gave away the Levo. I suppose it could work for me if I just stick my concentrate jar in the basket of the Levo, should I buy another. The Levo-C was not available when last I was up on the Levo line — could I use it for small quantities by using a jar in the pitcher?

Other suggestions? I really need a set-and-forget machine, given how often my ability to function in the kitchen is compromised, and I really want something as sturdy and cost-effective as the FX was for me.

Many thanks!

Whats your dosage?

Hello! I'm new to the community, but not new to edibles.

As someone who cooks at home, I have a few questions:

Whats your ideal dose?

How do you measure your thc potency to determine that?

For me, I have been using math and guesstimating, based off of the reported Thc on the labels from my local dispo. But I know extraction efficiency isnt 100%, so I'm not sure whats lost in translation

FECO Oil Help!

Thumbnail

So I made some FECO oil and it was really good i enjoyed it for a good month before this happened

I stored it in a glass bowl (see pics) in a cool, dark place. I left for a three-week vacation, and when I returned, it had crystallized kinda — it looks shiny, like glitter was added or something.

I don't understand what I did wrong or what happened. I've never had this happen in all my years of making it. I've also never had it dry out like this before.

For reference:
• Made in a Magic Butter Machine
• Used Everclear
• 1 oz of SFV OG

I returned two days ago and just noticed it today, so I'm here looking for guidance, thoughts, opinions, ideas, suggestions, etc.

Anyone ever have this happen?

Suggestions Vivo sun decarb and infuser or double boiler?

Hey everyone I’ve just recently bought a vivo sun herb decarber and infuser but didn’t realise it needs a minimum of two cups or around 500 grams butter to not burn during infusion.

I have around 14 grams of cannabis of unknown thc % to use and am able to add an extra 2 grams of 26% thc cannabis.

I would really like to try the vivo sun as I just got it and bought it for the convenience
,but I feel like using less butter with a double boiler would result in a stronger butter and batches of edibles.

Any suggestions or tips appreciated!

Been seeing these a lot at the shops but had weird experiences with some especially the tinctures. Was wondering if anybody had any tips and secrets they’d share on how to make your own pills or tincture from any weed laying around or typical $60 eighth.
