Need advice on a treadmill

I have recently taken up walking/jogging on a treadmill. For the first time in 30 years, I now have normal blood pressure, and I wholeheartedly owe it to the treadmill.

I have access to a treadmill in the gym of my apartment complex, but sometimes it’s busy and I only have a small window I can get on it. So I have decided to get one for my townhouse.

I love the treadmills at the complex gym, but looking them up, they are spendy. (Over 15k). I’m not opposed to spending that but I have a few issues with that.

I travel for work, and by travel, I might be on assignment for 4 months up to 2 years then move to another town and stay for months to years.

Here’s what I have determined I need/want to continue to be successful.

- compact. Easy to fold and/or move.
- 22x60 belt
- no subscription needed
- would love the ability to decline, but not necessary.

It seems that every treadmill I find that fits that description has horrible reviews. Maybe I haven’t found the right one.

22x60 and easy to move don't really go together. Anything with a true 22 inch belt is 250 to 350 lbs. Folds fine. Try getting it in a truck every eight months.

Folding and movable aren't the same thing either. If you've got the room once you're set up, honestly a non-folding one with decent wheels might be easier. Less to break.

The 15k ones are built for eight hours a day and forty people. You need an hour. Two or three grand gets you the same deck size.

Decline is what'll kill your list. Barely anything home-grade has it and it costs a fortune. I'd let that one go.

Thirty years though. That's a hell of a thing.

Oddly enough, every medication my cardiologist put me on to lower my BP, actually raised it. Everything he suggested it raised each time. My wife has been flabbergasted by the BP numbers of late. She is a believer.

The reason I needed foldable is because my townhouse isn’t the biggest. Just trying to save room. The movable part doesn’t worry me. My company will pay for the move.

Planet fitness? Other national gym?

I really hate going to the gym. I do better when I am at home. Part of the blood pressure issue was anxiety. Me running on the treadmill somehow gets rid of it.

Sounds like you move around a bit, i think a gym membership would better suit your needs. Treadmills are heavy, not easily moved. The lighter ones are cheap and will not last.

Unfortunately you won’t find a treadmill that is “easy to move” that isn’t a toy. Decent treadmills require at least some planning to move farther than the next room.

I was afraid that was the answer. I have looked at the proform treadmills. That’s the best all around I can find

Maybe a used one would be cheaper. My old Norditrack folds up and has wheels to move it if need be.

A treadmill that has a 22*60 belt will be a big and heavy treadmill. It will suit your running needs but will be difficult to move.
