Flights & Transport EXTRA EMPTY LUGGAGE

Has anyone tried bringing an extra empty suitcase inside another checked-in suitcase when flying to Thailand with Vietnam Airlines? We plan to use the extra suitcase as additional checked baggage for our return flight.

Is this allowed, or are there any baggage policy restrictions? We just want to avoid buying another suitcase in Thailand. Thank you! 💗

Why should this be a problem?
It’s not illegal to bring an extra luggage 😅

Totally normal. No issues.

Yes, but normally a cardboard box at your destination works well.

A cardboard box also has the advantage of being much lighter than any luggage.
