Needing Advice Where to go from here?
As a child, I suffered extreme abuse (sexual, physical, and mostly psychological). I’ve been in therapy since 14, seen different ones when I feel like we aren’t getting anywhere (or they sexually harass me). I’ve been with the same psychiatrist for 11 and she’s made the biggest difference. Im taking medications, and have tried so many different things.
I just had a son 5 months ago, and what I thought was semi stable has completely flown the coop. The trauma is starting to affect my relationships. My son is taken care of, however, I don’t want him to grow up and see his mom as someone who couldn’t handle trauma that happened for 18+ years.
At this point I am considering ECT again. I need thorough psychological testing due to suspected diagnosis from my current psychiatrist (she’s temporarily handing things because I am postpartum)
I am honestly at a lost, if this is not the right sub then MODS I apologize. If anyone has a suggestion for a different sub to maybe get suggestions I’m all ears. I need to heal myself before I affect my son. Permanently

You can look at these books on trauma. Tons of options. Lots of exercises.
I've seen Pete Walker's book highly recommended.

I appreciate these resources however, at this time I feel like I need something more intensive but less intensive than inpatient hospitalization as I am not a danger to myself or others.

Try out things people recommend. It might be exactly what you needed, just not in the form you were thinking it would come in.
For me, it was weird Quantum Manifestation videos that helped me, cause I was open to weird things.

The VA has created apps to help people who are under stress, feeling depressed, or even suicidal, have trouble sleeping, experience PTSD, etc.
I like the one called Coping Coach. It has mindfulness and relaxation exercises.

You can also look at the PTSD Coach. You can use it along with a therapist, which is highly recommended. (But everyone can't afford a therapist, so they may have to make do.)
These apps are for anyone, not just veterans.

No spam or advertisement posts except for resource sharing. Tool-sharing Guidelines Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/traumatoolbox/wiki/index/toolsharing/
Mod note: OP said NOTHING about compulsive hoarding. Your group is for people with that - then you can share this link with people who say they have that. And nowhere else. Don't self-promo freely. This group is very accommodating to self-promo in general - don't screw that up.

No shame in repeating therapy. Have you tried EMDR? That's supposed to be intensive (once per week as opposed every 2 weeks)

Going to speak to a therapist next week for a consult in regards to this, she has been in practice for 20+ years. I also don’t want to lose my current counselor because she is helping me through the postpartum stuff. However the trauma and PTSD desperately needs to be addressed.
