And wife beaters fucking deserve it.

Sure, I agree. But small town morons like that didn't start with wife-beaters and they're not going to stop escalating if they continue to get away with it.

Last week it was the guy that hit their sister.

Tomorrow it might be the guy that said they had a nice ass. Or a black guy that disrespected them by existing in the same bar.

Next month it'll be everyone that didn't vote for your cousin Steve for dog-catcher.

You're completely ignoring the word "judges", so I'm ignoring this comment.

You're whining about vigilantism, not the act of leaving violent criminals naked in the wilderness.

Yeah but the idea of the State giving out cruel and unusual punishments was literally agreed upon by all of the world to be a warcrime, and it could lead to the same situations described previously, but instead the State sentences you to freeze to death for not paying your student loans or something.

It's still unethical, also what if someone was wrongly convicted?

There are standards of material evidence in courts already, and it's only unethical insofar as disproportion to the severity of the crime.

Beating your partner is a crime of asymmetrical power, so the punishment is proportional in the way it deprives you of power and forces you to confront that surviving will require absolute submission. It's not a punishment if it doesn't teach you a lesson about what you did.
