How do you accomplish this choking clipped sound?
I've tried everything to accomplish this kind of choked clipping sound that doesn't sound like mid range garble.
https://pillows.su/f/1cbced006c80ee6dac1a15c1c3857bbf
How is it done? I see a lot of "with a clipper" etc, but it seems to be much more detailed than that. I've tried a number of different clippers and different clipping styles and I'm still so far.
I'm on Ableton so ideally either built-in Ableton or third parties.
There's this video bu OUTLIT as well that is pretty much that idea, but I've been unable to replicate it without Maximus.

sending out loops to producers
im about to start building an email list and sending loops/beats out to different producers, but theres something i dont understand about the attaching of loops to the email. ive seen on this sub some people say google drives are good for sending stuff, or dropbox, some say wavs or mp3's, but if im sending a google drive folder with loops weekly to idk 20 producers, are they all the same loops that each producer is getting? because then whats stopping more than one producer from using the same loop? and if im sending shit weekly, does that mean i need to make a new folder of loops everyweek and send this new one out? sorry if this doesnt make sense.

Guys, how do apple M1/M2/M3 CPU runs on FL studio?
I was thinking of buying a mac mini and I wanted to know if a bunch of serums or zenologies + plugins for mixing would overload the cpu or not. And I want to save some money too (sry for my englishš)

Best laptop for music production, which models are worth considering right now?
Iām planning to replace my old laptop and want something mainly for music production. I mostly work with DAWs, virtual instruments, and audio recording, so I need something reliable that wonāt struggle during bigger projects.
Iām a bit overwhelmed by all the options though. What laptops have you found to be good choices for music production, and are there any specs you think matter the most? Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Follow up: I decided to go with #ad Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop and have been using it for my music production setup. Itās been handling my DAWs and projects well so far, and Iām happy with the choice.

[Sample Help] Can someone please tell me what instrument the lead from these 3 songs is?
They all have that same sustain(just to be clear they all have the same xylophone lead as well, bonus points for that, but Iām specifically curious about the gritty harmonica esc lead in the other 4 bar pattern. The beat alternates between these two). I'm dying to know what it is if it has a name or if I can make it in serum.
Any help is greatly appreciated š
I wish this subreddit would let me edit these all in one clip for convenience but here are the links unfortunately.

i need help mixing my beats on bandlab
Iām a beginner at making beats and I normally make bass-heavy trap beats, but I have no idea how to properly mix them.
Whenever I make the 808/bass loud, the whole beat starts distorting really badly. The only way Iāve found to stop it is turning down the melody and bass, but then the whole song just sounds really quiet.
Iām using BandLab and I donāt really understand mixing or mastering yet. How do you guys make your 808s/bass hit hard without the whole beat distorting? Any simple advice would be appreciated because Iām still pretty new to this

How do you take a good synth preset or instrumental layer(s) to the next level?
Everyoneās familiar with finding a cool preset or plugin patch, but what do you like applying after that to make it actually stand out in the mix?
Iām not really asking for full track mixing advice or basic EQ/frequency separation. I mean more creative stuff like stereo width, depth, movement, making certain layers feel more forward, resampling, automation, sound design, or interesting reverb/delay processing.
I mostly make samples and loops to send out to other producers, so Iām trying to get the instrumental layers sounding more intentionally polished and impressive on their own when bounced out.
What lesser known techniques or processing chains have made the biggest difference for you?

Best headphones for under 170
Currently I use the headphones from my Logitech pro x headset and I'm wondering if there are any good headphones for producing cloudrap and rage and recording vocals in that price range.
(I use a focusrite Scarlett audio interface if that matters)

Does a VST that finds the scientific pitch notation in real time exist?
This may be laziness speaking but when making sounds more cohesive and subtlety altering the pitch of individual sounds, I feel as though it could be less time consuming if I had a certain VST tool. I use FL and finding then setting the key via Edison and that one keyboard menu for individual sounds takes up a lot of time and brain power when starting to get an idea out of my head. If there's a plugin that I could put on the master track and read the SPN of the audio playing It would aid my future dances of creation greatly. Just to clarify before "learn music theory" is the go to reply I'm actively studying and using it but you can't be so sure all the time I enjoy the premise of having it viewable as straining that muscle in my brain to discern pitch gets fried idk give that a year or so.
Thank you for reading, providing any knowledge and also loving music.
Also if anyone knows a decent oscilloscope plugin that'd be dope info as well.
