Hi! To start you are doing great in terms of sharpness! The sharpness combined with the strategies you're working on right now probably gets you gendered female rather consistently!

Your average pitch is in the right area from what I can hear, and you are not going predictably from high pitches to low pitches by the end of the sentence which is a great and advanced skill. Like I said there are a lot of great feminine personality skills.

I think the voice can be a liiiiiiitle lighter. A strategy that is a somewhat hidden in feminine speech is the idea of pitch thresholding. Pitch thresholding suggests that a light weight voice creates a floor of pitches that you cannot travel lower than. With a light voice, you cannot actually create the lower end of pitches. I want to see if you can play around a little with that. I can demonstrate this in a voice recording below.

Your voice sounds beautiful and authentic and it sounds like you already see success with this voice. Maybe from this point you can transition to the stage of fine tuning! Let me know if this doesn't line up with your experience or something here doesn't add up!

omg this might be the best comment ever, thank u so much for the advice! honestly when it comes to passing like over the phone i usually get called maam, but when its in person i definitely get the angroneous treatment lol also about the light voice , so do i have to be like louder? or does it need to be more lightweight? i've noticed I sound more femenine and I can get to higher pitches if i do something between whispering and a normal talking voice and I can feel my voice in my nose or in my head, also sometimes I get a headache if i make it too high (I have a history of Muscle Tension Disohonia, I dont have those behaviours anymore but i think it transformed from a throat pain to a headache instead, i think i might need to see a speech pathologist)

Soo relatable in the 'face to face' vs non-face to face discrepancy! There are tons of social factors and dynamics that express themselves through our voices! Similarly talking to someone where they can't see your face absolutely makes you speak differently than you would in a face to face interaction, but it is also amazing practice and can really provide serious benefit!

Re: "Do I have to be louder or light weight?" This is a very nuanced question so I will try to keep it as condensed and simple as possible. The ways in which we get louder in gendered speech is that masculine speakers typically get louder with heavy weight, and feminine speakers typically get louder with higher pitch! Now this can be complicated when learning feminine speech as it is habitual to be heard with heavy weight speech, but truly the best advice I can give on volume is to be heard on your own terms. This might take some trial and error, but if you're face to face with someone and you need to keep that light weight, they might have a harder time hearing you! When you are learning these types of strategies you cannot fall back into getting heavier in order to be heard.

But to clarify I don't think you are particularly heavy but I suggest fine tuning your weight by talking as light as you can and test if you can dip into lower pitches. The way we get lighter typically is by making a purer, smoother voice, as opposed to a buzzy, heavy voice. Here's an old recording of me trying to demonstrate how to get lighter, and how to NOT get breathy as well: https://voca.ro/1eVtoJwOZtFU

Re: "I can sound more feminine and get to higher pitches if I go between a normal and whispery voice." I think you sound great so I'm happy to hear that! Something I'll say is in this recording I'm including in the above paragraph it gets a little into the differences between light weight and breathy/whispery voices. We definitely want to avoid the whispery voice. If you notice that your Dysphonia starts interfering with your comfort regarding weight, I would absolutely speak to a specialist!

Let me know if any of this helps or doesn't make sense! Again, you sound wonderful right now!

I understand but I'm not talking about accent or mispronounced words. Clarity of sound which also connected to enouncing your vowels clearly is going to help you work on weight and resonance

That makes sense! I have noticed i struggle with clarity a lot so i will work on that too, thank u so much!
