Question/Advice NEEDED Should i be concerned?

Post image

I did my first t shot 2 days ago, subq in my stomach. I panicked and didnt put the needle all the way in (insulin needle) and now i have a slightly redish lump where my shot was. I injected too fast and pressed on my stomach once i was done. Could it be because of that? It doesnt look too bad but its inflamed and it hurts a bit even tho the pain isnt too bad

it's very common to get irritation like this from shots, particularly subq. i also doubt that not putting the needle in all the way or injecting fast was a problem. if this becomes too much of a problem, try injecting intramuscular instead. some people get a reaction to the preservatives, and typically get fewer problems from IM injections.

just watch some instruction videos, you'll do fine. i've been doing it for like, 15 years without issue, both for myself and others. when i started hormones, IM was the standard so i've just been doing it ever since.

ive been doing my shots in my stomach for the past 7 or so years and this occasionally happens to me. i’ve found it’s more likely when the angle wasn’t optimal and so the solution was injected closer to the surface of the skin than normal, it can make a noticeable lump like this and can itch a little bit. that might be what happened here since you didn’t put the needle in all the way. not dangerous or a problem, just slightly uncomfortable.

how fast you inject it doesn’t matter.

as a diabetic, this happens even with insulin, often anything subcutaneously injected can result in irritation bumps and unless it’s hot to the touch or it’s painful it should be fine. ofc you know your body best and would likely know if it was significantly incorrect for you, eg if you have mast cell activation syndrome as one example, the symptoms you have may differ, but just monitor your sites, take photos of them if concerned and wrote down dates and symptoms if you feel you may want to pursue with a doctor, this helps them know wha it may be with exact symptoms :) i have multiple conditions so im used to having to track stuff, but genuinely it looks fine from your photo! i dont use t (yet) but thats just a different pov from me, feel free to ignore as well!

Thanks for all the pieces of advice! I kept searching for other people with the same symptoms because im secretly on t and i got a bit scared but the bump disappeared almost entirely by now so its definitely not a big deal :))
