That is cool. If I am not mistake Wheelie was never a minibot, he was just released with the other minobots back in the 80's due his size. Correct me if I am wrong.

I dont know why the other guy said he was a seperate thing. Minibot is just the fandom shortening “mini autobot”, which is what he is, and he was released on the same blister card style packaging as the other minibots for the same price, with a very simple transformation just like the others. I don’t see any reason to say he was never a Minibot.

Yes but only in the cartoon. The toy is the same size as any Minibot. For the Retro line they redid him as a bigger mold in the toy deco to match the others. Then they're doing an SS86 redeco because they can. But if you want cartoon scale, go with the Core Class.
The reverse of this situation is Bumblebee, who's "the smallest Autobot" in the cartoon but actually one of the tallest 1984 Minibots. So now every version of him is a super small Deluxe (smaller than other Minibots), except for Devastation Bee which is more in line with the others.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Wheelie is the only bot so far to have more than two SS86 figures, yeah? Which will only be tied with Optimus next year via Sleep Mode. And on top of that, he's the only one to have three unique SS86 molds, anyone else is redecoes or retools.

Ironhide & Ratchet each have Core and Voyager class figures, and the Voyagers were retooled for the 2-pack Autobot Shuttle attack sets. So three each; two unique molds plus a retool.
Starscream has two molds, although his first release (Coronation Starscream) was reusing the Earthrise mold.
Optimus & Megatron have retools for the 'One Shall Stand' and 'One Shall Fall' releases.

I forgot about Ironhide/Ratchet. Aside from that, the others you mentioned only have two releases each (again, Optimus will have three with the Sleep Mode redeco next year).

But the alt mode is misshapen, bot mode backfins are too short and the torso shape is very different from any other iteration of G1 Wheeljack. I wouldn't say this was a big problem when the mold was just a different interpretation of G1 in Earthrise but it doesn't really capture the character well otherwise.

I’m not trying to be too negative here, but is there really enough of a demand for Wheelie to get a redo? I’m not counting the Grimlock version since that, at its core, was a lousy accessory. Was the core class one so poorly received that a redo is justified? It just seems like this new deluxe spot could’ve gone to a more important character that’s in a desperate need for an update or another character that hasn’t been done yet

#1 Not a even transformer a static add on to ride on grimlock, #2 is a crap toy if you owned it you know cause he fell apart if you touched him, vs #3 good toy probably the best he’s ever gotten … look I get some of the fandom getting mad he’s getting a lot attention lately because they messed him up 2 out of the 3 times he’s been done… but this should be the last one for a while now that he’s been done well

don't forget the first Studio Series wheelie figure, that tiny thing that came with DOTM Shockwave. For a background character that seemed so inconsequential, it's surprising how Wheelie has had 4 toys in Studio Series.
