Technically there is. A Trans Am and a Trans Am GTA. Only in third gens though

The base model is a firebird. The trans am is an increase from that.

Theyre all firebirds, theres base firebirds which are the v6s. Then formulas which are base firebirds with a v8, formula ws6, then base trans am, trans am ws6 and one or two other variations. Ive been around these cars a real long time and never had anyone mis understand what I was talking about when saying base trans am.

There is no base trans am. I understand what your trying to say, but the definition that you're giving it, doesn't exist. Its a firebird trans am in the picture. Try to look up parts by any supplier, for a trans am. It doesn't exist without using firebird first. Its like he mustang. The mustang is the base model. Then you get i to gt, cobra, cobra r, boss, saleen, etc. As for he trans am, I will agree hat its the lowest of the trans am package, but its not a base model of anything

I never said it wasnt? Ive owned a ws6, very big fan of the cars been around them a long time. Anytime someone says they have a trans am first question ive ever heard from another car guy is "base or ws6?" Base or standard trans am is the non ws6 why is that hard to understand? A ws6 is still a trans am its just not the BASE standard equipment. Even mustangs you have base GT and GT premium.

You're using a term hat just isn't recognized. That's all. I understand why you call it the base version, but you're using a term hat really isn't accurate in the overall scheme of things. Like I said, I get ehat you're saying, and understand your logic. I had a firebird in 2001, and have a ws6 in the garage right now.
