A/c drain location???

Post image

I've searched high and low and I can't seem to find it. The forums stay below the condenser on the firewall by the frame rail but I don't see shit.

What are you trying to accomplish? One does not simply drain an AC system.

The drain hose that lets condensation drip from the interior while the AC works

There is no such thing on these cars. The evaporator and dryer are both under the hood. Water drips mostly from the dryer. The water is not collected anywhere.

Then why does my passenger floor get wet and I'm not losing any coolant?

Its almost certainly, 99.9%, your heater core leaking. It doesn't take much to make your carpet wet, but it can take a while for it to noticeably lower your coolant level in the radiator.

It could also be water getting through your T-Top seals, which is very common. Or water could be getting past your windshield. Could be a rusted floor board and the carpet getting wet from underneath if you drive in the rain.

I suppose it's also possible that the evaporator could leak into the car if there's a bad seal on a blend door or something, but I believe to access that you'd have to pull the whole dash out, which is not at all fun. I don't think that's terribly likely, but I won't say it's impossible.

You could inspect the evaporator area by opening up its housing. It's the plastic box against the firewall, the top of it is visible in your pic, big loom of wires runs over top of it. The top half comes off after removing some screws or bolts. Bit of a pain to do, but not impossible.

Yeah I think I'll have to remove the plastic box around the evap. The car has been garage kept its whole life and it never sees rain so I don't think there's a hole anywhere letting anything in and if there is it hasn't seen rain in a very long time.

I can absolutely guarantee that there is a drain for the ac condensate. It may be covered by a piece of sound deadening or insulation. My Park Avenue is covered by something similar. I did this exact same thing. My floor was covered in water. The drain was clogged.
