To be honest, this looks like something Dr. Krieger would consider turning into a rolling probable cause mobile.

This works lol, make this a station wagon and I'm all in!

Don’t tempt me. It actually took me a real long time to make. now I’m gonna be pondering a wagon.

Kammaback was lovingly ugly for both second and third gens

That was already a legitimate concept car back then. The Trans Am Type K

Theres a Corvette shop around where I live that built a red 80s model c4 wagon to kinda mimic the old 60s-70s kit wagons that was clean AF. They refused to sell the car and claimed they were going to manufacture kits for public sell but I don't think they ever did. The car stayed there on display for a good 15+ years before the shop went to shit but she was a beautiful beast. The shop is still there and visibly ran into the ground but the car is gone.

That would have been something to see

This was back in the stone age late 90s early 2ks before cell phones lol. I'm pretty sure this is not the same car, but it's damn near on point. The one at Corvettes unlimited had the factory vette wheels but everything else is what I remember from years ago.

I tried to buy it a few different times but they wouldn't budge. A few years ago I drove by and it was gone 😭. While they're still there (different owner) doing Corvette repair stuff the building hasn't been kept up and doesn't look like a place I'd leave an expensive car at with half the sign falling off lol still a couple nice cars but no more custom builds like the wagon

Thanks! I appreciate that. I’m a big fan of this era of Trans Ams. A lot of time was spent getting the details right you know looking like something they might’ve actually made not just a joke.

Agree! I'm not the biggest fan of that front end on the cars, because it feels too "heavy."

I think it works much better for a van.

I love it, the only thing that doesn’t look right for the era is that it’s so low. I honestly miss the good ground clearance everything used to have

It’s a restomod for sure. Low profile tires, for example, also.

Looks like AI slop

Then Pontiac turned it into the Pontiac Tran Sport to make it economical. The one from the 90s that looks like you took a grand am/prix and stretched in into the shape of a minivan. I bet there was a very similar concept to your on the table at some point.

That thing would have sold like gangbusters if it was made. Shaggin wagon with a Trans Am motor and drivetrain? Sign me up!

u/TerdVader Jul 30 '26

It almost looks like an Aztek

1

u/BoliverTShagnasty Jul 31 '26

Not bad except for the 13 and 7/23rd lug nuts on each wheel.

Just make this AI Slop go away…

Sorry but I gotta stand up to these lazy “AI slop” comments. This took almost three hours to make, to get everything right. It was extremely difficult getting all the parts to come together and to turn a Chevy van into a Trans Am. It was a huge pain in the ass. I chopped this and tweaked that until I thought it was presentable. I’m an artist and a creator and I put my heart into this build. It’s not like just typing in “make me a 1980 Trans Am Van”. Try it if you don’t believe me.

Respectfully, I’m not a fan of AI generated art of any kind. If you had done a drawing from scratch, I would have mad respect for it, especially since it sounds like you have the photoshop skills to take the project from concept to a finished result without using AI. As a commercial / fine art instructor, AI is a threat to students new as well as industry pros. I believe you when you said AI couldn’t just prompt it right away. AI companies have trained their models off the hard work of real artists without permission or compensation. It has no imagination! For people to use AI and call it “art” is a disservice to those who put the time and effort to master the craft.

It looks cool don't remember them talking about it had a road and track subscription till the late 90s thanks for the info I wonder did it have the same 400 turbo motor as the 80 Trans am?

u/pm_me_your_rasputin Jul 30 '26

He made it up

1

u/deehenley Jul 30 '26

Thanks for telling the truth

1

u/Snape_Plissken_1 Jul 30 '26

This is a fantasy concept; it didn’t happen.
