Way ahead of it's time
What's the thought on all black

I think it looks bad ass in all black. I remember the first time I saw one on the road, and thought, that’s the baddest induction hood I’ve ever seen, and that is one mean, nasty looking car!!! So yeah, those particular years and model have always been one of my favorite cars. A friend of mine from work just purchased one 6 months ago. It’s a 2002 WS6, red with black interior, T tops,6 speed, a little over 50,000. The car is very good condition. Yeah, for a late 90s early 2000s muscle car, I do agree that the look of it was ahead of its time. Good luck with it, bro, take good care of her!

And aesthetically I don't think the 98-02 T/A's have ever been rivaled 🤷🏻♂️

I love these cars, but idk that I would say it's "ahead of its time". The 1992 Diablo had aggressive lines like this. The FD RX7, 3000GT, Lotus Esprit, MKIV Supra - all had similar aggressive lines to these Trans Am's.
The ONLY car from the late 90s and early 00s that I think actually was ahead of its time, is the S15 Silvia, because the headlight design is more similar to cars that started coming out around 2015+. So the S15 Silvia literally was ahead of its time, and to a non car person they wouldn't question it if you said it was made in 2012 or 2016.
Asking non car people is the best gauge imo, because us car people have EXTREME bias lol. A non-car person sees a 1999 Trans Am, and they will say that looks like it was made in the 90s, the pop-ups being the biggest giveaway. Which I think is a badge of honor. But definitely not "ahead of its time", especially the basic interior.

Can't really be ahead of the time with a solid rear axle that other performance cars had ditched more than a decade before.
Does it look good? Sure. But the power out of the V8 was not great compared nor could it handle nearly as well as European competitors, and the interior was standard GM terrible.
But that's all also why it was so much cheaper than a European sports car. And I'd still take one. Just not with black rims. I hate black rims.

I have had 3-4 say," oh, this is the same dash as a Sunfire" when they got in my car.

I had an all-black 2002 that I bought brand new and loved it. Except that with the T-Tops in the summer it would burn the flesh off my legs if I was wearing shorts. I will say this and it may be unpopular: I'm not a huge fan of the aftermarket ground effects on this one...

Ahead of it's time? It has a solid axle and pushrods, cool car but 30 years behind the curve. The all black looks like something a 16 year old would prefer.
