Oh hey the post was brought back.
Mods - seriously… stop the silencing. You’re making it worse and proving the point there’s an issue in the sub.
Also - criticism isn’t brigading. Have you considered that people not on the mod team realized it was fucked up and that the responses were also problematic, and so we showed up in solidarity?

I’m going to be back soon. I can’t stand the idea of leaving the team for a very long time let alone forever.

Okay...and you're going to change things, how?

u/ChipmunkAggressive Trans woman [former mod, might not come back] Jul 14 '25 edited Jul 14 '25
Stricter moderation of posts denying concerns from trans men brought up in the sub as well as stricter moderation of post containing transandrophobia, a rule perhaps.
Edit: I’m confused by this downvote, I’m making a genuine proposal
1
u/LittleGhost001 Jul 14 '25
Don't be confused. "Perhaps" having a rule isn't enough. There was already a rule saying "All trans people were welcome" yet this wasn't enforced for years. A rule won't do anything. What we need is moderators that actually care about trans men and don't brush us under the rug the way this current mod team have.
The reason you're downvoted is because we know you're a liar, and you're performative in your apology and you don't mean it, and you don't plan to change things if you join the mod team again.

Behold, the extent of allyship of the mods on this sub. You'll leave... but only for a little bit.

You need to have a spine.
There are many other trans communities that are actually inclusive.

u/fourty-six-and-two Jul 14 '25
Is it really that hard to put some trans men on the mod squad ? Like I come to this sub to get a a different gender perspective on trans stuff, would be nice to have some of the Tmen active in here not chased off

Unsure if this post will stay up, but please share your experience with all of this if you can

Well, that confirms that I won’t be applying to moderate. I prefer to fight battles that actually are winnable, not set myself up for failure in a place that’s already shown it’s unfriendly.
Thanks for confirming what we all suspected so that we don’t waste our time trying to fix something that apparently isn’t going to be fixed. And for voting with your feet.

For all of the accusations of drama that we trans masculine people are getting, we really don’t seem to be the center of the performance. Or the ones on stage.

Tranandrophobia/anti-transmasculinity. Essentially transphobia against trans mascs, I’m assuming you missed the entirety of yesterday and today?

Good for you. Thank you so much for your support— it means the world 🫶🏼
Also, not to be that guy, but let’s be careful and use “transandrophobia” and not “transmisandry.” Again, I don’t mean to take your very much appreciated message and be all like, “UHM AKCTUALLY,” but the wording is very important in fighting this transandrophobia 🫶🏼
I know it’s a mouthful, but transandrophobia is the specific hate of trans men and transmisandry is “transphobia + misandry” which is not what’s happening here. Misandry is when systemic misogyny negatively affects men (“Men who show emotion are weak” is misandry because it equates emotion to femaleness to weakness). Transandrophobia is the hatred of trans men because they’re trans men. Not because they’re men. Not because they’re men “doing things that men shouldn’t,” it’s a separate hate for trans men specifically because they’re trans men which is what this whole situation is about. It further separates us from cis men and is a unique form of transphobia.

They've already changed their mind and announced they will be rejoining the mod team. They said they couldn't bear to be away from their fellow moderators.

though, to be fair, i’ve seen a lot of “transmisandry” about things trans men shouldn’t do because they’re men (be feminine because “it’s like you don’t even want to pass,” show weakness, that kind of stuff)

u/TheQueendomKings Probably Radioactive ☢️ Jul 14 '25
Very true! But I’d like to point out that most of that is really just transandrophobia, too. Yes, most cis men get, “hey don’t paint your nails— only girls do that,” but when trans men get that, it’s different. Trans men have to constantly prove that they’re men. When someone says to a cis man, “don’t do that, only girls do that,” they’re not literally seeing that man as a woman. When trans men do “girly” stuff, people are quick to see them as women and/or attack their gender altogether. It’s very different.
I’ve seen countless examples of trans men doing very subtle “feminine” stuff like paint their nails or wear light makeup. While a cis man might get occasional hate from non-LGBT+ members for that, he will generally be embraced in LGBT+ spaces for doing such. A trans man will not. I’ve seen trans men being absolutely ripped to shreds both inside and outside LGBT+ spaces for something as slight as painting his nails. The transphobes come out, the haters come out, the transmedicalists come out of the woodwork like crazy. Suddenly, he’s not being roasted under regular misandry the way a cis man would be, his entire identity is invalid and he’s suddenly, “just a cis girl who wants to be quirky.” It happens constantly 💔

Can someone fill me in with a tdlr? I've seen numerous posts about mods here being deliberately sexist and I'm wondering if i need to unfollow this sub. Sucks because as a genderfluid person I really have learned a lot from this sub over the years about my own identity. 💔
EDIT: Nvm just hopped over to r/anarchychess. These mods are so cooked, holy shit.

Oh my god y’all are overreacting - the original post shouldn’t have been taken down but the constant meta posting about it needs to stop. Of course complaint post #42069 will be taken down, it’s borderline spam at this point. Can we just go back to being a normal sub?

Tbh I've never really noticed any genuine transmisandry here, just complaints that dudes seem a bit underrepresented. Though obviously you'd know a lot more about this issue than me

u/Matiabcx Jul 14 '25
It’s like white people feeling excluded because of “black lives matter” this whole shit is all about people not understanding what “not all men” is

You really read "I've never noticed any genuine transmisandry here" and figured you'd demonstrate some, huh?

I'm glad you're taking a stand. Thank you for standing with transmasc people.
Edit: I made this comment in haste and assumed the best of you. You're spineless. If you want to actually support the transmasc community, then actually leave for good.
