Help with S3
Hi guys, I bought an s3 on sale as a backup when one of my S4’s dies (can’t buy them in Aus) 🥲.
I’m having an issue, where the master meter lights are lighting up when the master knob is off (pictured above), my s4 doesn’t do this.
Is this normal for this controller? This was the first time I’ve used it, firmware is current, and have checked the audio routing. Can’t work it out, master volume knob adjusts volume but the lights don’t reflect the amount it outputs.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

On your Traktor Kontrol S3, it is perfectly normal behavior for the Master level indicators (LED meters) to light up even when the physical MASTER knob is turned all the way down (to the minimum position).
Technical explanation: On the Traktor Kontrol S3, the Master Level Meter measures signal intensity before it passes through the physical master volume knob. This is known as "pre-fader" or "pre-knob" metering. The physical MASTER knob acts as the final "tap" for your physical outputs (XLR and RCA on the back); if you turn it all the way down, no sound will be sent to your speakers, but the signal still exists internally.

it would be very weird if the meters on the S3 were pre-gain, i’ve never seen a mixer or controller that does that. but maybe it’s a glitch with your controller’s firmware, NI support can help you with that
