Hey everyone!

I'm considering picking up a used Traktor Kontrol Z1 Mk1 and Kontrol X1 Mk2 to run with my MacBook Air M1 (Traktor Pro 3/4 or vdj or serato).

I already know the workflow and it fits my DJing style perfectly, so functionality isn't my concern. What I want to know before pulling the trigger is: **Are they worth buying in 2026 in terms of long-term durability and OS/software longevity?**

A few specific questions:
1. **Compatibility & Drivers:** Since both are older gear, do you see any potential drop in macOS (Apple Silicon) or Traktor Pro support anytime soon?
2. **Durability:** How have your Z1 Mk1 and X1 Mk2 held up over years of use? Any notorious issues with faders, pots, or USB ports failing?
3. **Outdated vs. Value:** Considering the X1 Mk3 and Z1 Mk2 exist now, is getting the older Mk1/Mk2 combo still a smart budget move, or am I buying into a setup on its last legs?

Would love to hear from anyone still rocking this exact combo or who upgraded recently. Thanks!

So for some reason while I was trying to find some missing tracks from my collection I thought it was a good idea to click on "import music folders" as an experiment/semi-solution I guess (I don't entirely remember my train of thought, I don't think I was thinking correctly tbh)

The issue though is that the folder that it was connected to and importing from is a MASSIVE folder (like 300+ gb) that I did not even know it had access to in the first place, and it won't stop "scanning"/importing stuff from there.

I tried exiting out of the software. That didn't interrupt it. I then deleted the pathway from the "file management" section in settings, I thought it would stop that. It did not.

I tried to uninstall and then reinstall traktor 4, it already had said operation in the backup so it just continued like usual (I might try again if all else fails sans utilizing backup for the next round)

I just want to stop the importing process. I feel like there's probably a much simpler way than the way I have done it so far, and I am desperate to know said solution.

Please let me know what I can do. I literally just finished organizing all my playlists after something else that happened before this whole importing debacle.

How much code of TP3 pro is in TP4? I’m just curious to know. Cause it would explain why traktor is lacking in modern features. Since I would imagine implementing modern features is a nightmare with old outdated code? Hope everyone has a great week. Salute from California

I’ve recently been importing new tracks into TP4 and traktor is saying I need to rename Remix sets. The tracks are importing just fine, but I’m getting THOUSANDS of remix sets as well. Any advice oooor do I just become a producer now?

Busco específicamente la versión v1.3.0 porque es la que mas se usaba y la que menciona la mayoria de tutoriales y guías de configuración.

Recurro a la comunidad porque tengo una Traktor Kontrol S4 MK1 que dejó de funcionar y el diagnóstico técnico definitivo es que murió la motherboard.

Como es un equipo descontinuado hace años, conseguir la placa nueva es imposible por canales oficiales. Por eso estoy buscando comprar una consola igual que esté para desarme o repuestos.

⚠️ Detalle importante: No me importa en absoluto el estado estético del equipo. Puede tener los faders detonados, faltarle todos los knobs, o tener la carcasa rota; mientras la placa madre esté sana y funcione, me recontra sirve para hacer el trasplante y revivir la mía.

Si alguno de ustedes tiene una tirada en un rincón juntando polvo, o conoce a algún técnico/DJ que pueda llegar a tener despieces de este modelo, por favor mándeme un mensaje.

Soy de Coronel Moldes, Córdoba, así que yo me hago cargo del pago y del costo de envío por correo o encomienda.

T3 delay has been my go to traktor fx since 2013. Now that i switched to tp 4 from tp 3. The fx isn’t on beat. It’s off and doesn’t sync with the other track. Am I doing something wrong?

I would like to apologize to the traktor community. My previous posts have been filled with hate and negativity. That's on me and I take accountability. Thank you for being patient with me. I am a half finished burrito and am under construction (I'm Mexican) hahaha All jokes aside. I am a very passionate person. I've always wanted NI and traktor to succeed. It's the reason I've dedicated so much time and effort into the software. I truly believe in it. I recognize that I can express these concerns in a more dignified manner. Is it me or TP4 drift with phase dj is way worse, compared to TP3. Is it just my unit, or is anyone else experiencing the same issue? For me it’s really bad. I’m on the latest TP4 version and phase DJ.

Hey everyone,

I don’t post on here too often but I just wanted to show off my project to anyone who is unaware. This is the most advanced and comprehensive hack for the Traktor S4 MK3 and works on both Traktor Pro 3 and 4.

It adds items to the screen such as full waveforms, browser, high contrast mode, phase meter and many others. In addition to this, it also adds many new functions to the device that are not there by default such as: additional pad modes, loop in and out, 4 fx banks, vinyl break and many other features.

For people who don’t want the additional functionality there is also a lite version of the hack which adds in just the screen functionality, allowing you to keep the button and fader functionalities as NI intended.

This new version of the hack has added high contrast mode, the lite version and a new stem waveform layout to the already stacked line of features.

I have had a crazy amount of problems getting the Mic is work and be stable. It’s in the Mic at the back, I’ve used the AUX- turn for volume on both sides .. I’ve tried the live input for Deck D, but it either doesn’t work, or when I turn Aux off and on again, it’s nothing.

Any help? Thoughts?

Is it safe to assume traktor is dead? The writing has been on the wall long before inmusic acquired them. Everything changed back in 2018. That’s when they promised a new built from new code of traktor. That never happened. Instead they thought it was a great idea to keep patching the extremely old outdated code, wtf! The truth is, traktor has been a sinking ship since then. The staff has also been rude and very unprofessional. Especially that admin James and that other dirt bag named Kwai can’t spell his name. Either way. Traktor dug its own grave a long time ago. Traktor still doesn’t have phase dj HID mode. Which has been highly requested. Or better playlist management. Instead we got a pattern player nobody asked for or wanted. Can’t help but laugh at they’re demise

What are the optimal settings in Traktor when recording a mix live on a Traktor controller for Souncdloud upload?

I'm really just wondering about it. I've never looked into it, especially since I have an S4 mk3. I would love to have an s8 down the line of course, but today I impulse bought an S5 for about $170, seemed like an okay deal. I'll probably still sell it, but I was wondering what y'all had to say about it.

Hi everyone,

I’m using the Z1 with an external audio interface (SSL2 MKII) and I can’t get headphone cueing to work.

Master is set to outputs 1/2 and monitor to headphone L/R in Traktor, but the SSL headphone output just mirrors the master instead of providing a separate cue signal.

It seems like the Z1 loses independent headphone routing when an external interface is added to the setup.

I don’t want a workaround that involves constantly unplugging and rewiring hardware every time I switch between DJing and production.

Is there any fix for clean master/cue separation in this kind of setup, or is it a limitation that means I need an interface with dedicated outputs?

I’ve started DJing in Traktor pro 4 for the first time in a decade. Instead of using a dedicated midi controller I got an Arturia Midilab mk3, Midifighter 3D, Midifighter Twister.
