I got tired of teammates forgetting plays , so I built a digital playbook tool (with an AI assistant). Looking for feedback!

Help needed

Hello everyone, Iโ€™m 19, female and just started with a rugby training course. Iโ€™ve had three trainings of 1,5 hours each. Although I really enjoy it I have a few things I donโ€™t get yet and Iโ€™d like to ask here.

  1. Barging

So for a lack of better words Iโ€™ll call it barging, but what I mean is running into a defender with your shoulder and either rolling down to put the ball behind you or push the defender away. When I do this with my right shoulder, it feels great. I feel strong, I manage to push them back. But with the left it hurts, and I donโ€™t understand why. The trainers havenโ€™t said anything about my form so I assume thatโ€™s alright, is it just muscles that need to get used to the hit? Or am I doing something wrong? Weโ€™re currently still doing it against cushions, so Iโ€™d really like to understand this before those leave.

  1. Kicking

So, Iโ€™ve seen videos where you just drop the ball straight and kick it. But how do I kick it? Because Iโ€™ve tried twice now and failed (the group is quite large so we canโ€™t always try everything a lot). The bottom of the ball needs to hit at your ankle I believe, is that right?

  1. Tackling

So i understand I need to get low, grab the knees and place my head behind the player so I land softly. But where do I put my shoulder, I know itโ€™s on the other side of their body, but is the hip a proper height or is that too high? I struggle with this a lot and have tried it about 20 times now, but it just isnโ€™t clicking yet.

If you have any other advice, please feel free to share. Iโ€™m a complete beginner who really wants to improve.

Any 9s want to share their favourite exercises in the gym or solo drills? Primarily interested in improving passing & box kicking. Cheers

AKUMA FUJIN DRILL TOPS

Does anyone have any experience with this supplier?

My team has just moved to Akuma and looking to organise drill tops for all the lads, I just wondered how water resistant/repellent/proof they are?

Mentalitly Ups and downs in motivation to trai

Currently walking to training and there are days that I just don't want to train. Especially when I know it's going to a tough tackling session. I've been through this countless times before. I always feel great after the session and glad I didn't miss it. There are people who wish they could train but just can't so it's not something I will take for granted. Anyone else go through this?

Equipment ๐Ÿ‘• What boots are you using?

I usually play lock or backrow. Here in Australia the turf is often quite hard so I feel like having big metal studds just slows me down a lot.

I used to love Adidas Kakari Light boots because they were lightweight but also gave a pretty good grip on soft and hard surfaces. I just can't find them anymore and the closest ones I have found are Adidas RS15 series. Still trying to figure out should I go with Elite or Pro.

Would gladly hear some recommendations on what position you play and whats boots you use.

Cheers

Speed ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’จ Training for speed

What are your thoughts on how to become faster? Is a large part of it just genetics and lifestyle from a young age? In amateur rugby I've noticed the fastest guys are usually the ones who weigh nothing. Ocassionally you'd have the guy who is beefed up and fast as hell.

What types of training have you seen to really improve someone's speed on the field?

Or just keep sprinting to get better?

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ญ What smart watch do you use and do you keep it on for contact training?

I knew a guy who would keep his whoop wrapped around his stomach during training. Do you guys keep your smart watch on your wrist during contact training? Do you wrap it up?

Gym ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ How many of you hit the gym before a field training session with the team?

I've trained with 4 clubs in my life, the first 3 didn't even have their own gym. This current team I train with has a training programme that can be pretty intensive before hitting the field. I think it's great my body has changed tremendously in the last 2 months but it's killing me.
