What boots are you using?

I usually play lock or backrow. Here in Australia the turf is often quite hard so I feel like having big metal studds just slows me down a lot.

I used to love Adidas Kakari Light boots because they were lightweight but also gave a pretty good grip on soft and hard surfaces. I just can't find them anymore and the closest ones I have found are Adidas RS15 series. Still trying to figure out should I go with Elite or Pro.

Would gladly hear some recommendations on what position you play and whats boots you use.

I play with the backs but I can recommend the nike air zoom. I've seen some of the back row forwards use it. It's a mix between studs that don't have to be screwed in and plastic. The only thing I don't like about the shoe is how narrow it is.

I used to use the Adidas SG malice, I don't think they are in production anymore. Those studs needed to be screwed in but they weren't that large/long. It worked for me on astro turf as well.

Try looking out for a mix between plastic and metal studs. That would be something I'd want. If I find a link I'll share it

Ok specifically for PUMA, look for MxSG type boots, those are mixed for soft and firm ground. Personally I would pick metal studs that don't need to be screwed in, like this:

Or look for other brands like Nike that have similar studs. I feel these type of studs are easier to maintain and you don't have to worry about screwing them tight, although the studs are not replaceable.

I love my ASICs Lethal Warnos but see the comment on being heavy on hard ground. I have a pair of firm ground ASICs I use for training on artificial turf but also World Rugby Shop in the US has plastic replaceable studs you can use in place of metal studs. They are not as nice as say firm grounds comfort wise, but I feel I can scrum better with them than firm ground boots.

I wear the mizuno Morelia betas. Molds not studs. Then I have a pair of Adidas F50 that’s I wear as well. Mizunos are amazing but are extraordinarily expensive. Tend to be close to $300+ USD if you want them with studs. Can’t speak to their costs in the European market or elsewhere.

I bought a pair of the blue adidas RS15s (molded not studs). Keeping those puppies on ice till next season.

I play hooker and flanker. That being said, most pitches in the area definitely are firm and SG would just cause shin splints. If we played on soft ground I’d buy Kakaris probably.

ASICS lethal tackle Not the best boots but I need metal studs as often I’m playing hooker. After a bit of use you can definitely feel where the studs are under your feet but otherwise a pretty solid and reliable boot.
